by lows are we talking 'bass' or 'low mids' and if any of you have an SBEQ is that the lows you are talking about ?/?
good question,,,personally I like lows from the SBEQ with the SYOD before it. So I assume this would be 'bass' freq. I find the LGW fits more my 'low mid' needs for this range of drive.
I did try the mid Humper with it and prefer the SBEQ..Not sure the PHumper is necessarily designed to do low mids though.
Perhaps I wouldnt use added bass all the time with the SYOD, but might be nice to have a set and forget adjustment for that range.
So do you think the SBEQs bass knob or the LGWs body knob would be more appropriate as an additional tweek ??
Don't know how helpful this is but I played around with the SYOD again for a bit tonight using only it and the Morning Dew EQ. I don't have a SBEQ or LGW, yet!
I left the SYOD in my sweet spot, 9/10/3, left to right, and left my PRS on the bridge pickup just to keep things consistent. I placed all the MDEQ controls at 12 and adjusted from there.
I didn't appreciate the tone at all when I simply lowered the treble. It just made things sound "further away".
I did like it much better with the bass up at 2 (pointed straight at the LED) but liked it even more when I turned the mids from 12 to 2 to match the bass setting.
No matter how many settings I tried, increasing the bass further, increasing and decreasing the mids, and changing the treble, I always came back to 2/2/12 position, left to right. (Bass, Mid, Treble). I don't know how that would match up to the SBEQ but can see that if there were an internal bass trimmer, it would have use.
