good question,,,personally I like lows from the SBEQ with the SYOD before it. So I assume this would be 'bass' freq. I find the LGW fits more my 'low mid' needs for this range of drive.
I did try the mid Humper with it and prefer the SBEQ..Not sure the PHumper is necessarily designed to do low mids though.
Perhaps I wouldnt use added bass all the time with the SYOD, but might be nice to have a set and forget adjustment for that range.

So do you think the SBEQs bass knob or the LGWs body knob would be more appropriate as an additional tweek ??

Don't know how helpful this is but I played around with the SYOD again for a bit tonight using only it and the Morning Dew EQ. I don't have a SBEQ or LGW, yet!

I left the SYOD in my sweet spot, 9/10/3, left to right, and left my PRS on the bridge pickup just to keep things consistent. I placed all the MDEQ controls at 12 and adjusted from there.

I didn't appreciate the tone at all when I simply lowered the treble. It just made things sound "further away".

I did like it much better with the bass up at 2 (pointed straight at the LED) but liked it even more when I turned the mids from 12 to 2 to match the bass setting.

No matter how many settings I tried, increasing the bass further, increasing and decreasing the mids, and changing the treble, I always came back to 2/2/12 position, left to right. (Bass, Mid, Treble). I don't know how that would match up to the SBEQ but can see that if there were an internal bass trimmer, it would have use.

i did find a inproved bass response from the SBEQ with the SYOD... with the SYOD set at 12/9/11 > SBEQ set at 10/2/12...it sounds pretty natural...all BJFE tone!!...i find it is mostly the low end ( bass ) that needs a small kick in the pants, not so much the low-mids...

Hmm,, well after trying with a few different cabs,,,I guess it could vary.
I started putting the SYOD thru as many speakers/cabs as I could using a Tele.

thru a closed back 4x12 it seemed fine the way it is. and my thoughts of too much treble were not an issue. Im finding useable ranges with treble at noon and higher. And there was plenty of bottom end to kick you in the pants. Also worth rementioning is when I turn the drive up, I turn the treble down to compensate and vice versa. Speakers used 2 Red Fangs, 2 Private Jacks.

more varing results thru 1X12 cabs. the celestion v30 speaker I found to be a nicer match than the greenback. The V30 had more of a bottom end to it, the greenback seemed to limit the use of the SYOD treble control abit more,, here I would go with the SBEQ, cut treble a hair and kick up the low end.

for 2x12 set ups. I was liking the celestion black shadows with it. Had a warmer heavier feel. Seemed to compliment very nice. the 2x12 with Weber Alnicos was again to bright for my taste. Here I could see use of a body knob control such as the LGW.

please note that some speakers used were in combos, some in cabs with same or different head. so this is not a true equal assement,,,but maybe would help give a little more insight. btw I didnt list actual amps used to cut down on some confusion,,they were all set with comparable levels.

Im still enjoying it very much as low-med gain od to use alone and stack with DRD. but also finding some more uses for it by cranking the drive and using it to solo. It has a unique but familiar sound with a Tele bridge p/up that is really growing on me.
So in short,,not sure if the SYOD needs anything added, it maybe just better for certain rigs and personal tastes.

VERY useful info guys, keep it coming as you continue to experiment.....
Speakers make such a difference obviously and getting the right feel between your pickups and speakers makes all the difference then the adjustable parameters on the pedal make the dial in much easier.......

the more I play it, the more I like it...still. I really like it more and more for leads and rhythm.

still using mine,,,,most of the time alone. although I still feel is does stack best with the DRD. It would be a hard choice for me to choose the SY over the BBOD for every application, but it has a certain bite and high end character to it that works well with my current 4x12 setup.
I can say it was one pedal that readjusted the way I was hearing treble. Once I played it over and over,, other drives felt like there was something missing the upper register. Maybe I was treble deficient. :)
Although I mostly played tele with it,,,I may have found I may like it even more with a strat.
very much enjoyed

This nails it on the head for me too. At first I thought it had too much treble, but now when I play other overdrives, they sound dark in comparison. The SYOD has definitely moved into the #1 OD slot for me. It is really expressive and I am digging the edgy grit it seems to inherently possess.

I wouldn't change a thing about the pedal. If you make it more mold-able, people will just dial in their favorite OD sound and it won't be any different than the rest of the crowd. The differentiation is the key, and it's got that in a very good way.

I kinda feel the same way about the Model H. I haven't tried the SYOD, but my first reaction to the H was that it was too bright, but the more I played it the more I realized that it really wasn't too bright, just unique. Sometimes I have a hard time putting this stuff into words.

I have found the SYOD upper mids to be a little hard and have found the treble a little tricky to dial but I've also done a lot of amp juggling lately.

I think I'll put it back on the board to try this weekend now that I've pinned down the tones of my newer amps.
