HBOD in Hammond case?

Hi.

I just got this HBOD and when I opened it I found that it is a Hammond case.
S Number is quite high as you can see (#726).
I read that some other BJFe's came in Hammond at some times, but not the HB.

It doesnt look like it is a replacement bottom either, it has the exact same finish as the rest of the pedal.

Does anyone know why this is?

Ok, so I read in the 'construction...' Post that ca 150 pedals was made using this box.
So I think I did find the answer :D

Unless someone can find another reason why my pedal has this box?

The original Elfa enclosure mold broke, so you won't see any new pedals with the old Elfa enclosures. Just the Hammond ones.

I also heard they stopped producing the original paint for the Honeybee and are using something different.

Yes that's all correct... Sometimes the hardest part of pedal building is just finding the parts you want to use ....just like anything else some things come and go and don't have real replacements
