I've tried a couple different compression pedals both before and after OD's.Seems to me that the effect is more subtle before the OD and I like it that way. With compression, I don't particularly want to hear it but I can tell when its not there.

I run my EQ at the end of the chain for just the opposite reason. When I tweak it, I want maximum effect and I get that better at the end of the chain.

I tend to think of both EQ and compression this way. Early in the chain, they affect the signal, late in the chain they affect the sound.

I am constantly changing the order of my OD, fuzz, and distortion pedals but seems I always like the Honey Bee after all of them.

You have a monstrous task trying to get all those together not simply in terms of space but in terms of choosing which to use in a given situation especially with stacking. Good luck. You have a lot of very nice equipment so its not a bad bind to to be in.....

Hey Donner,

Man, they couldn't be more different. I feel very lucky to have each of them.

The Echoczar is richer sounding overall when compared to the DBD but the DBD has more sparkle, clarity and yet remains warm in a totally different way. It has filled a particular sound I was looking for. The Deep Blue is easier to dial in and has a great midrange quality and articulation that is hard for analog delays to produce (although, the Echoczar is the best I've heard in this department). I liken the Echoczar to chocolate and the DBD to champagne.

The MGMV and the Angel Baby aren't even in the same hemisphere. The AB is much more like a chorus as a chorus pedal design spawned the AB. It also only modulates the repeats of the Echoczar and can go to extremes if you want it to. I use the AB more subtley typically. I really like Ed's products and service alot. With the Echoczar and AB alone, I have three delay times to choose from and endless possibilities. The MGMV is one of my favorite pedals as it adds this beautiful sparkle and slight boost even with the amplitude dialed down. I leave it on all the time now.

Excellent descriptions Jamie - and Im sure you know theres a trim inside the MGMV to adjust the overall level of the boost if you like....


EF - yeah I think the main concern on order of comp is if you want dynamic pick control of your distortion...... like putting the Honey Bee BEFORE the PGC has a didfferent feel than putting it after....

good eye on the OG Tim yeah that was when i was talking to Paul about paintjobs early on - we came up with some pretty funny options .....



after you string em up even try a boss or ibanez and see if just putting it in brightens your end tone....
