What does the "FT" on my Baby Blue serial number mean ?

Postby Noodex » Sat Jan 04, 2014 5:16 pm

Hi everybody !
I'm sorry by advance if this question has already been asked...
Inside my old BJFE Baby Blue Overdrive I can read "FT 789".
Is there somebody here who knows if it's "normal" ?
I mean, should it not be written "BBO and a lower number"?
Thanx by advance to you !

Yeah, I thought there were only around 500 of the BBOD made...

I had one for awhile that also had FT inside, never figured it out either.

I'll hazard a guess... FT = Freakin' Terrific

I think there were originally only around 500 made because of parts availability... but I think there were around 30 new BBOD's made in the last year or so as some parts became available. I'm sure there is a thread here somewhere..

Anyway, your FT sequential serial could be a secret code... :shh:

Mine's FT516. I have no idea what it means, either. :D

You mean the stuff after the FT532? That just signifies that it's number 15 out of the 30 that were reissued through Custom Sounds as a limited run in 2012.

Was not the early BBOD fuzz one? Or FO. Could it mean fuzz version two? Or FT.
I though officially fuzz two was the DRD(my 1st bjfe! :) ). Then again, my memory could easily be incorrect on these details.

It stands for "Fuzz Tone". The very first BBOD was called "FUZZ 1" as Bjorn was trying to get the, well, fuzz tone....and hence the name. From that time every BBOD has been given a serial number starting with FT.
