I have a fuzz friendly Wilson Vintage something which has lots of great sounds, but it is hard to operate sitting down and I have messed up my back standing on one foot while I use the wah.

My favorite stack was Mystoury > BJFE EGDM3k or Model R.

Cool! hmm.. very interesting.. I have been stacking EGDM - MR a lot lately and loving it... Need to watch out for all that gain though  So I imagine the mystoury - MR was interesting.. How was the overall result in brightness and how was the R control affected?

I know the first person demoing the pedals said the Mystoury wasn't bright enough, but I received the box from Donner all the boxes were permanently closed and I found the Mystoury very useable through the whole range. Maybe Donner can chime in and let us know if anything was changed between (I need to see who had it first I feel bad) the first reviewer and myself.

I have noticed I am running my dirt lower than ever (except MG and PH) and running the levels above unity gain which can cause some surprises and problems!

Haha! Yes, you have to love giving the front end of your amp a good hammering now and then! That mystoury box sounds like a great stacker! Any guesses what it is yet? :shh:

Maybe....

Anyway, although the Tourbox was much fun it is now en route to it's next participant.

My light final conclusions:

I still have a hard time seeing or using the EGDM as a fuzz but as an od/distortion, it's one of my favorites. I preferred it with my strat, wasn't that picky about the amp.

The CAF was bonkers and great fun to play with but still entirely usable as far as bonkers fuzz pedals goes. It was a different pedal with my LP than it was with my strat but both were entirely a blast to play with. The Nature knob was key to this one.

The PPF and the Mystoury fuzz were the most similar but with different characters. The PPF was the hardest to nail down as, at times, it was a great OD and at other times it was a great light muff-ish fuzz and sometimes it was both and neither. Not helpful I know but it was like the best of both worlds. The Mystoury seemed the most traditional fuzz to me with the feel and range of a great Tone Bender but more flexible and not quite as sharp. As I mentioned earlier, it was fantastic at every point on the Fuzz Knob and the Fuzz Knob acted more like a blend between a clean boost and a fuzz signal.

Cool stuff there.
