Anyone compare the BJFE EGDM to the Bearfoot EGDM?

I thought I heard that the Bearfoot version has a different component in it versus the many BJFE's. I cant find anything that gives sound or description comparison between the two versions.

For most music the EGDM is my go to pedal, though I am giving it a short break to try other combinations, I wanted to know if they were very similar or more like cousins?

Well it has a stronger transistor... little higher gain - little lower noise - little silouetto of a man scaramouche scaramouche will you do the fandango !!

Ha!

"Emerald Bo-greenium Rhapsody" :laughing7

Actually I will be able to do that with the tourbox...in fact for all three.

Thanks Donner! I am interested because I really couldn't fit the BF SYOD 1 & 2 in my sound when I first got them and finally sold them. lately I got a deal I couldn't pass up and bought 1 & 2 again and they are working great with the same amps. I typically run Dist on my BJFE 3k around 11 and on the 4k around 1, so more gain is not a big deal, but lower noise might be a good selling point to give it a whirl. For me the EGDM is a do it all pedal all you need to do is twist a few knobs.

The other strange thing is my Honey Beeatch 1st anniversary seemed to reduce treble from about 9 o'clock to 7 and the latest one does not do that which makes it harder to stack into. I seem to be running my gain lower again and stacking more to get the gain.

Did Bjorn do more fuzzes than the CAF, PPF and AWF? Not including the DRD, BBOD or EGDM. I really like the versatility of the PPF though at times I wish it had the Bearfoot 4 knob EQ abilities to make the lows and highs be more independently tweakable.

Yeah there are parts tolerances and thats the world we live in ; ]

we decided to keep the PPF as is for a few reasons - one being that since the CAF was getting the treble control fourth knob and higher price , it would be better to have an all purpose three knobber that matched the HB and other three knobbers.....

I think the CAF is so improved in the new format I am using it all over the place! It has so many personalities it can do most anything including distortion and OD duties.

Yeah I agree - and it took me a while to believe my ears, even tho Bjorn told me that when he finished the protos ...

My two favorite stacks were usually either the EGDM or the CAF into a Honey Bee or even a SBEQ ...

But with the new stronger trannies and the Treble controls they can do the 'stack' by themselves, and a part of me didnt want to believe that

but both of these and the PPF really are ass kickers and maybe the best of the BearFoot line .... we shall see what the Tourboxes have to say .... and we will probably do one here as Id like to here from some BJF oldfarts what they hear ........

I compared them on the Finally Fuzz Tourbox. They are very similar and I highly recommend the Bearfoot EGDM.

I think the second one has more gain!

I didn't find the BF EGDM4k to be similar enough to my BJFE EGDM to let go of the original. It was too smooth and didn't adjust the way I liked. It could be because my BJFE is a bit older because for some reason it can do many more sounds that I love.

I did get in on the first batch of EGDM low gain and that has been on the board since it arrived. Maybe because it is not trying to be a regular EGDM that I can deal with it, or maybe it just sounds fantastic!
