So... like I said this is the 'Year of the Fuzz' for BearFoot .... Candy Apple and Pink Purple are confirmed ....

How much is too much?

One thing we finalized last week was that the Snow White and Arctic White while being cousins - will NOT fit in one all encompassing pedal .... is it worth making both ??

what else is worth covering ???

How about something in the White vein, but with a Bias control as a fourth knob...? I think that'd be fun.

I'll chime in FWIW, since I've had the Snow White, AWF(still have) and Smokey Orange Fuzz(from where the AWF came from), and say that I thought they were pretty close, with the AWF having overall tighter mids to my ear, which I favored over the other two.

Four knob AWF would be cool, and yes, could be a bias knob, or even a presence knob to take advantage of the noon to CCW swing of the treble pot....of course, it would be really cool to have a "loose/tight" 4th knob(if possible), controlling the mids or overall EQ, to have a looser and more open feel on one end, to a tighter, more focused tone on the other.

I would also add regarding how much is too much...I would say these three(CAF,PPF,AWF) could cover a LOT of ground, especially considering the past Bearfoot pattern of offering some nice variations on a theme...I'm sure many might agree that there can never be enough fuzz, but then I would think a fourth fuzz(released this year anyway) might diffuse and confuse and over saturate things....I could be wrong.

I would like to see both 'Deluxe' and 'Duplex' versions of Bearfoot pedals. Maybe something like the Deluxe HoneyBee or something with a boost or EQ in the same pedal. I have drooled over the BBDR01 duplex that sits on eBay for $2850USD. Maybe a duplex with HB and a PPF or some drive/distortion with a SBEQ after it.

I think the trouble answering the question is there are very few who have owned both the AWF and SWF or even SOF and even fewer sound clips or videos.

I do like melodichaotic's suggestion of a 4th knob being a loose/tight knob. It seems to me that the two areas that can make a fuzz more useable with different rigs is how tight or loose the mids are as well as the ability to control the upper trebles like on the new CAF. I guess a third factor is how well it works with a clean or dirty amp/stackability which is why I tend to have trouble with Muffs and MKII tonebenders even though they sound fantastic with the right rig.

I did really love the AWF when I had it. Never tried the SWF, but it sounds like they are close enough that releasing both may be redundant.

And to respond to Donner's larger question, Bearfoot has so many OD flavors (HB, DRD, MH, SYOD1, SYOD2, EGDM) and that hasn't seemed to slow anyone down. I say keep rolling out the fuzz.

Finally, the CAF is blowing my mind. What a great lead sound.

AWF all the way, but I agree the market could sustain both.

Can you really ever have too much fuzz? Is that a thing? I don't think you can have too much if I'm honest.

yeah these all have their own personalities and still sound better than most of whats out there --- Im still amazed at the extrememly low background noise and high gain combination of these transistors...... well the PPF will be up in a bit.... lets see how much ground they cover.... :glasses
