BBOD love

Wow! The V2 IS vastly different from the V1. I had always wondered.

More to come...

Merry Christmas, friends!

I got one from the limited run from Custom Sounds, and I love it! It really sounds great at all gain levels. I like that it can get kinda fuzzy with the gain maxed as well.

I'm in love with mine (a v2), as well... It goes so great with my Morgan AC20 Deluxe and my old AC30, which are my two main amps. I tend to just bring one overdrive to practices and gigs lately, as my pedalboard's been taken apart in anticipation of the arrival of a couple of pedals... The BBOD easily handles the task and sounds beautiful doing it. There are so many good sounds in it, too! Lately I like to set the gain somewhere between 9 o'clock to 11 o'clock, picking softly for clean and digging in for a cleanish growl that still has nice sparkle and note definition...

:love10 :pedallove :music

I'm back in the BBOD owners club again at last. Snagged a slightly beaten up V2 about a month ago and this one isn't leaving. Personally, having owned two v2's and a V1 (although not at the same time), I have been more fond of the v2's than the v1. I can't decide if I prefer it at 9v or 12v. I wouldn't mind a touch more volume but I guess I'll just have to build my Cherry Buster and put it after the BBOD then. :)

I've had both v1 and v2, and good ol' #85 is where I put my money. It is a standout. "The truth is out there" is inscribed on the back. I just love it! Stacked with a early HBOD, there is just nothing better. Believe me. I have spent countless hours and all my spare money chasing after every boutique, "holy grail" pedal. Bjorn nailed it.

Agreed -- had my custom BBOD built to be as close to this on as possible and BJ did not disappoint. It truly is THE sound IMO :salute

I recently put the Timmy, Hotcake, Gain Changer, Prince of Tone, Paisley Drive and BBOD on my board to end my OD searching once and for all. The BBOD and the Hotcake are the best going around. Hotcake for flat "same but a bit more" type OD and BBOD for that slight mid lift and gorgeous bluesy drive. Then combine the two. :glasses

I'm so jealous. Its the one pedal I have yet to try and it seems that among BJFe lovers it is "the pedal" more so than the HB.

That's true... Though I do like my Model G and even EGDM just as much, for different things. I use the Model G as more of an all-around dirt and EGDM for a jangly crunch, whereas the BBOD gets used at times when I generally need more snarl, attitude or fuzzy edged gain... The amp blowing up type stuff... It loves to do that sound.

Incidentally, the Model G has now taken over the Honey Bee's duties completely...
