Good news everyone! The BPB sounds awesome. I'm sure you all were wondering whether or not it'd be any good...

BPB is a keeper boys!!! I'm boosting this, I'm boosting that.. I boosting everything and it sounds glorious.
I also recently picked up the new Klon KTR and played them side by side.. while the KTR has the whole OD thing going on, Donner was right that the BPB's buffer and boost capabilites prevail... THOUGH, the KTR is a pretty amazing sounding OD/grit box.. My intention was to keep the one I liked but both are staying with the BPB being the #1 boosta'

Where are you guys running your BPB's? Maybe it could replace my Barber Launch Pad which I use at the end of my chain. I basically use it to have a buffer at the end. I would maybe add a very mild boost level.

End of the chain for true boosting potential.. Ran it into the KTR and got considerable more gain but didn't care for the sounds as much as when reversed.

Kewl! glad y'all are diggin' 'em ....

Yeah I like the BPB at the end, as I think it retains the guitar/dirt pedal dynamic touch sensitivity best having the buffer after the dirt, but before the time delay effects .....

Try taking the KTR off the board see if you hear a buffer difference...(you may not) and vice versa...

The KTR has a mid push even in Klean config (gain below 9 oclock) that I could never get rid of ---- the BPB is smoother in that range and thats where I prefer it to the Klon .....

(of course I could never say this anywhere but here  )

OH !

Another thing - its no big secret anymore that Centaurs run at 18v internally, which is where the headroom sparkle magic is.....

The BPB goes to 18v , so if you want to adjust the headroom sparkle you can try some higher voltages too ~ 12/15/18

Ha! You answered my next questions Donner! I like the Barber Launch Pad because it runs internally at 24V I think so it has a lot of headroom. Good to hear that I would be able to get similar headroom by powering the BPB at 18 Volts.

Yeah to me thats the biggest problem with those that run with internal doublers ~ you cant 'undouble them and get the warmer sounds --- Id rather have the BPB voiced correctly for 9v and then you can pretty easily run it at a higher voltage if you want the headroom... :glasses

Hmm... This is making me want to try 18v with my BJFe BPB! I run most of my BJFe's at max. voltage, as that's where I tend to like 'em best for my rig. Though I've since gone back to 9v on the EGDM...

With my BPB, it was love as soon as I first plugged it in, so I never bothered to experiment. I still say someone needs to make a dedicated 12-18v switchable isolated power supply for people like me that tend to run quite a few pedals on our boards this way. It'd be a niche product, maybe... but I think it'd sell ok here!

Show of hands for curiosity sake... Who else likes to run several of your BJFe's at 18v (or the Honey Bee at 12v)...?
