Model R

So I've been missing around with a few stacking configurations and was wondering if anyone has done similar experiments. The Model R sounds amazing by itself. With a humbucker guitar it sounds similar to Model H stacked with a Bee. Nice and girthy but also very brilliant with great articulation of notes. As with most BJFE's however, stacking tends to lean towards some interesting tones. I have a new EGDM that I've put behind the Model R with great results. A tad less brilliant then the Bee-stacking but a touch more gain and compression.

Has anyone else tried any bjfe's with EMG's? 81 and 85 to be more specific. I like the twang of strats but the sustain and overall crunch I get from an EMG played through the Model R and EGDM stacking makes me weak in the knees.

Thoughts?

I am actually surprised you are getting such great sound from the EMGs! I fix, mod and set up a friends guitar that has EMGs and when we go to test it through my rig it is not so nice!

I did do some stacking of the MR and found that the BF Honey Beeatch and BF SYOD V1 sound great on either side of the MR and the BF SYOD V2 sounds great after the MR. I am also fond of the PGC and PH before and SBEQ after

I just wish I hadn't wasted so much time trying to get the DRD to work for me and picked up a MR, but that is easier said than done! I have actually had the MR on the shelf for a bit as I tried out the BF SYOD twins, so pulling it out yesterday was a real treat!

Lots... works wonderfully and I consider it one of the few OD pedals that is worth having with a good Dumble style amp. I felt like it was a way to get a Marshally sound out of your Dumble style amp.
