How much wire will be needed? The only wire I have is cloth insulated for wiring guitars and I suspect that may not be good to use. Or is it? It would be cool to have cloth wire in a pedal . I am pretty certain we all live near a hardware or radio shack store and can pick-up the needed wire if it is a pain to add to the kits. I'm fine either way. If pedal building is anything like building guitars it becomes so addicting we will all be buying wire in bulk soon anyway

Nothing wrong with cloth wire IMO. I am going to build a few Si Fuzzrite's soon with some black and orange cloth wire just for kicks :glasses

Of course the folk boost proto is top priority so that's for some time down the road

And bright LED's can be remedied as stated above or by swapping the CLR (current limiting resistor) for a higher value to reduce the current and thus the brightness of the LED :thumbup:

I like the idea of a bi-colour LED... Smart thinking. I do feel that having a 'standardized' kit of parts, wire etc is the best way to go if possible, especially if based on the outcome of the prototype... This would be my preference but of course I understand if the more experienced would employ some flexibilty in their choice of materials. :pedallove

cloth high five !!! - i was actually thinking of using red cloth wire to go with the pedals color :thumbup:

Exactly. They're called super-bright, but they're no more bright than any other LED if you use the proper resistor. That gets my vote, but I have a few funky-colored super-bright LED's already, so if we go another route I can just use on of those. No biggy either way.

Cool -- I'll try to order most of the parts tonight and I'll be sure to include a ton of red wire in my order as well as some sweet bi-color crystal/bright LEDs. Odds are it will be red/blue or red/green as those seem to be the most common ones. And ya gotta have a red LED for at least one setting. It is the cherry buster afterall :joker

Almost all parts have been ordered. Still searching for 16mm 2Meg Linear pots and LED bezels that will fit the Bearfoot boxes... have a few feelers out for some guidance but if anyone here has any leads, let me know.

Also -- per the recommendations of a few I've decided to leave knobs up to the builders to source since I the standard BJFe / Bearfoot ones will not fit the pots and I don't want to make the choice for everyone on an alternative.

Back to scouring the interweb...

OK -- all I can find are 24mm pots for the 2M input impedance control. So unless anyone here or at the couple other places I've inquired can point me to a 16mm or 9mm pot we're going to have a snug fit on our hands. Good news is it will still work... it's just going to make everything fit a little more snugly... :laughing7

I'll give it another day to see if anyone can find a 16mm 12meg linear pot that's smaller than a 24mm but it's looking like I'll have to order the big boy for the last control. Good news is, that's the only thing left that I need to order!

Scoured the internet -- product doesn't exist on any major site...

etc.

However, BJ recommended a tweak which will allow me to pick up 1M pots instead which are easily found in 16mm size :clap:

Final parts order was just placed. Now we wait. :coffeenews

Once parts come in I will immediately make up kits, box things up, and get them out the door. Hoping to have all kits out of my hands in about 2 weeks.

The updated/final list is attached.

Prototype to be (nearly) completed this weekend -- have a couple small parts I'll need to add in once they arrive.

Final kit cost w/ box, board and all parts will be ~$85 to $90 + shipping

Extra boards will also be available for about $9 or so.
