The new and improved Cherrybuster...



This one combines both circuits instead of laying both out and creating redundant parts. This has the buffer always on, and the Z control is always active. The footswitch engages the boost function around the existing buffer circuit, greatly reducing the number of parts... Thanks to Bjorn!

Ive laid out the components with lots of space around them for the folks with fat fingers Also added a bit of extra space around each solder connection to allow for sloppier soldering jobs or irons without a sharp tip.

Just need to neaten a few things up but we are about ready to

How do fuzz pedals work with an always on buffer? Any way to add a switch like the MP RRB to turn the buffer totally off or totally on?

You will have an input Z control, and an output Z control. And a boost knob when the boost is engaged. I dont have it wired as true bypass.

The intent of the input and output z is to "tune it" to your rig. Not sure if it would work well in front of fuzz or not but the idea would be that you could definitely help it work better by adjusting the Z controls at each end so the effects on either side see what you want them to see in terms of impedance.

In other news -- Thanks to the much more efficient board layout I think I may be able to accommodate parts kits for the folks that want them.

I may also remove the "pour" on the solder side, so that there is no danger of shorting to ground if you put too much solder on. Will make a lot more traces of wire on the PCB but thats more an asthetic thing

Do most folks who have ordered these have experience soldering?

I think for many it will be their first project. And as far as "ordering" here is a list of the folks that expressed interest as of August some time...
