For those of you that have been using any of the SYOD variations, what are your thoughts now long after the Honeymoons have faded - anyone still using them a little ~ a lot ~~~ how do you use it and with what rigs and what gigs ???

I was too late to attend that party. I have always been curious about the V2 from reading descriptions. For that matter V1 sounds interesting as well. Maybe it's time for the first double Bearfoot. BF WODOD with independent sides. Would that make rev3?

I have a Saffron Yellow OD - love it! I generally stack it with almost every other OD I own... HBOD -> SYOD ->MH, PPF, AWF. etc....

I use a Fender Jaguar and Jazzmaster into a Princeton silverface or a Supro


(I tend to set my ODs on the dark and minimal OD side so I use the SYOD to brighten and boost the dirt so it cuts through the mix.)

Would definitely be interested in the v2 coming to bearfoot. That or the v1.5 that was suggested oh so long ago that has the additional gain and bite of the v1 at the upper ends of the drive and treble knobs.

Still loving my bjfe hbod #144 into my v1 SYOD into my SBEQ. These three have been the core of my dirt since november 2008. Several bands, and hundreds of gigs later, they are the only boost or gain that I consistentlyuse. Have a SGD for occasionally heavy moods, and I planning a Skreddy Lunar Module. for getting my fuzz on, but ODs just don't haunt me anymore. I'd love a MG, but otherwise i just need z glow PGC.

Myrig is a Bogner shiva, fender vibro champ, a custom vox ac15 clone, and my main Budda SD18.I play an SG special, an LP. Studio, and a G& ASAT Classic. Other pedals of note: timeline, bluesky, carbon copy, de7, eb volume, and a pitch black mini tuner.

For cutting through the mix, v1 is king. For bright jangle, it is king. Stacked as a boost it can push just enough

I tried to dump my v1, cause its valuable. But then I compared it to everything else. Nothing else sounds as interesting to my ear. So much sparkle and bite, perfectly aggressive and fair dynamic to picking intensity. Beautiful chords, soaring leads without being too harsh. And live it lives in the front of the mix, but when I thin about the SYOD, the most amazing thing is that at the middle of the gain dial it is still pretty clean but soooo in-your-face that you don't need more gain to solo. You are just so articulate that anymore gain would diminish the solo. And coming from a recovering Mesa user, that's the highest compliment I can pay a lead pedal.

The sparkling yellow's are my favorite overdrive pedals at this time, actually for a couple of years. I used one with a telecaster through an old ac30 for some recordings awhile back, and achieved some very interesting tones. Then I was using the sparkling yellow through the dynared into a twin reverb for heavier sounds, and I really liked that a lot. Just roaring and sparkly. Recently I have been using the sparkling yellow into a few different Marshall amps and that is GREAT too. I like the v.1, and v.2 interchangeably. I probably like the v.1 a little bit more, but they are both fantastic and of a very similar character. The rawness of the v.1 is just a tiny bit more interesting to my ears. I would highly recommend the sparkling yellow to come to bearfoot and will love to buy one to play, and compare with the BJFE's.

Yeah Ive used the Yellows as my daily drive,base drive alot over the last couple of years and my ears still enjoy it - depending on which amp one of the twins is usually fitting - it has that universal drive sound in both my favorite amps ...... what we are working on is a way to get both, or at least the best of both, in a 4 knob version that would cover a lot of ground for a lot of rigs....

I've been a Tube Screamer guy most of my life, but my V1 is my mainstay OD pedal since i bought it new.. It works great alone with my Marshalls, or as a boost to almost any other pedals. I liked the V2 as well as it fatten up the sound great, but it just didn't suit my rig like the V1 does...My darker sounding Marshalls need that brightness the V1 offers to really shine...
