so the overall picture, design of the pedal will suffer to appease idiots.
don't join the masses, even though they have the cash you may crave.
tough position.

the no brainer is to just offer the spare raw plate as you have been doing.

there will always be stupid people, just don't join them.

personally, i hate velcro, and never use the stuff.

The fact that this is an issue for discussion is really......well it points to a direction of compromise.....which puts a lower standard in my mind.

Not sure anyone is "stupid" for their opinion of painted pedal bottoms. Donner is probably wise to look at his options of what those who consume the Bearfoot line are interested in. I doubt anyone will riot over their painted or raw pedal bottoms, but having an opinion is certainly not stupid or farfetched. I respect your conclusions regarding velcro and paint, but I think it is "stupid" to expect individuals to unilaterally agree one very opinionated and immaterial issues.

i was speaking a bit more open to stupidity than just this topic, sorry about that.

though this topic really is..... :violent1 beaten to death.

the sad thing is, people key in on it........like somehow not putting an adhesive product on other items will not mare the finish.

I'm not going to finish the bottom of this painting since where you are going to place it, a chair will be there blocking that section.
you won't see it, and it will get knackered anyways.

welcome to compromise on quality :problem: to appease...........choose whatever words you like.

keep painted bottoms around.

add an option for each purchaser to decide if they want raw unpainted bottom or the regular painted bottoms, or both.

If they want raw, knock 10-20 bucks off the regular price (because you're doing less work). If they want both raw and painted, add 5-10 bucks.

To be completely honest, I never had an issue with the velcro peeling paint off with my Bearfoot DRD and HBOD or my BJF HBOD and SBEQ. And they get kicked around a lot. I do use a bare bottom with my BBOD but that's more because it's rare and I don't want to chance it falling off of my board and getting beat.

I do think the bare bottom accents the paint nicely though. I switched them all out recently just for aesthetic reasons.
