LGW question

Postby cedjazz » Thu Mar 15, 2012 2:47 pm

I have a strat style guitar with a stacked humbucker in the neck position and sometimes the LGW gets a little muddy. Do the different chips give more or less mids??

yes the chips might help a bit on that - also try it at a higher voltage if you can

Definitely agree on the higher voltage. It will definitely help (though I have never had much of an issue with muddy LGWs).

same here, the LGW has never been described as muddy and i've never found it to be (playing strats mostly).

Where do you have the controls sets on the pedal? Does it sound muddy always, even after changing the settings on the knobs? I have played my MP LGW with Seymour Duncan Classic Satck + and don't remember it being muddy. The LGW was open sounding with less compression than a typical tubescreamer.

The two threads below might be useful. There is ton of information on the characteristics of different chips.
