Anyone using their bjfe's with their acoustic rig?

Postby Pinegreen » Sat Feb 25, 2012 10:13 pm

Title asks it all. I've been gigging solo acoustic steadily since 1996. I do alot of looping and have a board full of pedals. I'm on the waiting lost for a couple Bjorn's pedals and would love to hear if anyone on the forum gigs acoustic with their bjfe/bearfoots.

I used a SBEQ all the time with an acoustic. It was great with it.

I use a SBEQ always on, and I used to a FGC for a while. My electric setups pretty tame though...

How is the PGC for boosting lead work?
And the SBEQ as an always on...can it help bring out any of the woody acoustic tone? BTW- these are the two pedals I have on order.

I've used the PGC in past with acoustic guitar and it works well. Frankly, I can't stand any other compressor pedals for acoustic or electric.

I'm currently doing a show which calls for tenor banjo and mandolin (for which I've substituted a Martin tiple). Both are amplified, going to a Baggs Para DI via an A/B box and then to the amp. I'm using the PGC to boost the tiple, which (due to the different pickups used) produces a weaker signal than the banjo. While I'm primarily using it for the boost, a touch of compression on the tiple is quite nice.

I am building an acoustic rig for use with my upcoming Myka SG which has a piezo bridge. I am thinking it will be an Evergreen Comp (always on) -> Bearfoot SBEQ (lead boost / eq)-> Boss DD5 -> Earthquaker Device Dispatch Master into my Taylor K4 PreAmp/EQ/DI... should be awesome.
