Model G

Like to get a better sense of what the Model G offers. I own a very nice late '50s GA20T, and also play or hear my buddy's excellent GA40 now and again. So I know the source tones well enough.

I seem to recall at least one good Model G demo vid posted by a forum member a year or so ago, but I can't seem to find it; perhaps my memory is in error. The Model G demos I can find online aren't very informative, or at least don't give me a good sense of the scope of what the pedal can do (no offense to whoever made them).

Any Model G owners care to offer some insight? Or maybe do some demo tracks?

would love to help you out here but i've never played a GA40 or GA20T for that matter. All i can offer is mostly whats been said about the MG already. The really tricky knob is the "C" knob That one is hard to explain. The pedal is brighter than the HBOD (obviously) and has richer harmonic content. It doesn't sag like the HBOD does. Its my favorite overdrive but i'm not being too helpful here.

I don't expect the pedal to sound like a Gibson amp, anymore than I'd expect the Model H to turn my Super Reverb into a Hiwatt. But I imagine, just as the Hiwatt notion is a useful tonal reference point for the Model H, something of the sort with the Model G/Gibson amp. I do like the sound and feel of those Gibson amps. What I've learned so far, Model G is very intriguing.

Some more demos showing the range of sounds and settings with some different guitars and amps would be helpful. But, the pedal's scarce, and not everyone who might have one is equipped or inclined to record and post demos. Hopefully that will happen at some point.

One note: My amp seems to have more headroom so it doesn't break up quite as easily as it does on this vid.

Can anyone tell what the BJFE is right next to the Model G? And it looks like the 007 Model G is there too?

It isn't 007 MG. That one has "License to Thrill" Written over it. No clue what that pedal to the left is.
