Its a special beast!
I,m thinking Ramones!!!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awT3gwmiLX8This is a great pedal. This is Punk Rock! It works really well for me with my setup. I was playing a tele with Kinman Broadcaster single coils through a stereo setup with an AV30 and AC15.
It doesn’t remind me of a honeybee very much. It is much tighter and doesn’t really have that saggy feel. It does have dynamics, girth and depth in a similar way but it has a different flavour. I have never tried a normal Honey Beest but I have had a number of BJFE Honeybees, including a Deluxe (oh I miss her so!), and a BF Honeybee. This pedal is all together different and what makes it so special to me is the extra knob: the pregain. Hmmmmmm….
The volume is like most BJF volumes, unity at 9pm. The Nature accentuates bass to the left and treble to the right rather like a Honeybee. The Gain knob with the Pregain off, or as far left as it goes, ranges from virtually no gain to medium gain at noon. Nothing seems to happen with the Gain knob past noon no matter what settings the other knobs are set at. As you turn up the Pregain more and more happens. It is great! Up until noon the gain increases and from there to 5 O’Clock the gain continues to increase but also boosting mids and treble.
With the Nature all the way counter-clockwise and the Pregain maxed you can get a really heavy broken, almost fuzzy sound. My favourite setting is with Nature at 2pm, Gain maxed and Pregain almost maxed. This gives a very full, saturated overdrive with accentuated, quite nasally, mids. Even at the highest settings the pedal is quiet and sensitive to picking pressure and dynamics. Great for punk riffs (I can’t stop playing them!!!!) and I imagine it will cut through very well in a live mix.
I think I have had every BJFE OD and Fuzz over the years (except the folk fuzz) and this is something different. It reminds me of the first run of Custom Shop Model Hs and the Vt but is still different - it has elements of Honeybee for sure in there.
I really dig this pedal and can see it staying alongside my Model G and Cornish G2. It ain’t going anywhere soon that’s for sure. Nice one guys! A real surprise!
It is extremely sweet pushed by a PGC as well as the Model G.
I’ll try and get a little video together over coming days as I have a few days off.
