Model H owners

I'm probably in the minority here, as I usually have the gain on the H at 3Oclock+...although, I could see a lower gain H being a big seller for a lot of people!

I really do not see a point for a "low gain" model H, because you can get lower gain H tones (to my ear) by running the BBOD at 12 V and having the gain on that dialed low. That's how I run my rig to achieve all the drive tones I require.

...right if we go this route I think we will need to offer both .... tho for the people that use it at 9-3 dirt position it wont matter much ....

The H was made to be used with the guitar volume the way people used to do it --- you pick your highest gain setting on the amp and then adjust with the guitar volume, same here just with the pedal as amp ......


but many people today, myself included, like to run a clean amp and then stomp between various dirtboxes as presets --- so i can see the reasoning for have an H that goes lower and cleaner without touching the guitar controls ..... so ~ how low do we go .... ?

I have to say that even though I love the 9-3 OD tone, I also am one of those that thoroughly enjoy it at lower gain settings. I agree that adding more range on the bottom end would be a good bonus.

i am another owner of a model H, and i use mine between 9-12 o'clock. it does surprise me that even at its lowest, how much dirt it has! and while great, i do wonder what a slightly lower setting would be like, and im not one to fiddle with my guitar volume. But, it is my most favourite distortion/heavy gain pedal, period, so i dont care what happens! haha....... would i be interested in a lower spec'd pedal...................... good question really......

Yes, the BBOD would give you EVERYTHING you would want from a low gain Model H -- I assure you. I am very glad to have mine. Then again, you can always by another MH

Interesting stuff about the BBOD... I'll have to run that at 12v and hear what you are talking about. Too bad the BBOD would never make it into the Bearfoot line. As I understand it, there are not enough parts available to do it.

What version of BBOD are you using rockeroo? I have tried both V1 & V2 and could really hear the fuzz heritage as it sounds like a Master Volume fuzziness.

I know first hand there are a lot of MH sounds out there due to all the versions, but all have always sounded like an amp through my amps. The BBOD while great with my non-master amps it was too fuzzy with my Swart SST-30 which has a MV.

I have a V1, and I run the gain at 10 or below. Sounds great with my AC or Deluxe. I get my Stiletto Deuce 2 back this weekend and cannot wait to try it with that.

With the gain low, tone above 1 and the voltage @ 12, I love the rock tones. It sounds great and fuzz-like in character with the gain higher, but that's why I have a MH.
