Looks like when I have some spare $$ I'll be picking one of these up. Wish I could get my hands on it now as the review(s) so far sound very promising. I loved my old DRD but it wasn't quite angry enough for me. Sounds like this one might be just what I was looking for :angryfire

I got mine today as well but only got to play it for about 15 minutes. I compared it to my BJFE DRD (serial # on the 4xx) and at first was shocked at the wide range of it’s low gain. It does feel more like an amp than the DRD as the drive increases very very gradually. I think the EQ was a tad different than my DRD (probably component tolerances), but was unable to spend much time to figure out how. Hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday i’ll get to play for longer and will post again. It will also be interesting to play it side by side with the Fetto C-Luxe, as they seem to have a similar gain range.

The Volume knob on the DRD Hot had to be placed higher than on my DRD at similar Drive settings until i got to past 9 on the Drive knob.

Looking forward to hear what others think.

Wow. the volume knob turn down is perfect.
I actually like it better at full distortion with the volume backed off - than turning the dirt down ....

so maybe best to set the dirt to the most you will use and then do volume roll off .... well its good to have options ........

Donner I liked that as well, and it specially works better for low volume playing.

I'll post more thoughts in the coming days.

Thanks

I remember Bjorn Or Donner mentioned the Little Green Emphaser was designed for the DRD and added gain but also allowed for a change in EQ. I wonder, is the Red Hot sort of like a LGE running with a DRD?

Once you guys get the kinks out via research I'll be picking one up for sure. :D

The Honey BEEST has been so perfect in my setup that I'm sure this thing will do really well along side it and the MGMV.

Totally agree. As a side note, this is exactly what I was hoping Bearfoot FX would be about. Not just mirroring some of the more popular BJFE pedals but really further expanding the line in other directions.

Awesome work, Donner!

thanks! yes BearFoot will try and cover both the vintage/classic side of BJFe and the Customshop/Research side too, so there should eventually be something for everyone --- just need more hours on that clock
