BJFE / BearFoot fx Guitar Effects Community

Hey amigos,

I know we have touched on this before, but I was hoping to revisit this subject. I have had both the Mad Professor and BJFE LGW, and when I last did an A/B test, I felt like there was some subtle difference and preferred the BJFE. I know they are the same circuit (I also used the same chips), yet I seem to remember a couple of other people experiencing this after ditching their BJFE for the Mad Professor version and having some regret.

Can anyone share their experiences? I am on the fence about parting with my BJFE LGW and want to make an informed decision either way.

DONT let go of your BJFe LGW............mine was so sweet and warm sounding, and while the MP LGW is very close, it did not have that sweet, warm, syrupy sound the BJFe version has.

i would say KEEP IT......it's a great pedal, possibly the best sounding TS808 style OD pedal i have ever heard.

Man, I'd really like to snag one of these for a good price one day...

Thanks for the heads up. I personally thought there was a little extra something with the BJFE version, and I appreciate the confirmation. The LGW is the BJFE pedal that started it all for me. It was my first and still remains one of my favorites. I think I'll hold for now.

How old is your BJF LGW ?
There were a couple tweeks along the way ...
and there is always slight parts variance in the same batch ..... so if you find one that feels just right hang on to it if you can. You may never find that exact combination of parts again.

Mine is a late model (#107) with the changeable chip socket. Probably the last iteration of Bjorn's LGW before MP took over production.
