.... really good detailed explorations guys!!! Huge help !
And it follows alot of what I felt .... a couple things that struck me was on the fat /ccw side of the nature pot it became more useful but at the expense of the cw side becoming less useful ..... and theres a spot I think at about 10:30 where it just does that amazing almost painful, SRV clean scream, just bit a lemon face solo tone ..... but is it so changed that it really cant be called a Honey Bee is the question ????
Im thinking we will convert these back to more gain/push HBDeluxeish tone as origianlly intended for the HBst itself.... but there is definitly something here that might be useful in another pedal......

IF you guys want to play them over the weekend and send them back to me Monday (or sooner if you can get to the post office) and Ill set them up with the original HBeq and higher gain ~~~ it seems that would be a more universally useful pedal ~~~~

Hi Donner, I'll be sending mine off today. I'm looking forward to seeing how the revisions sound.

Thanks!

very interesting. At the risk of sounding ignorant, where can we get the beest? I didn't see it described on the bearfoot website?

This was a preliminary test batch of 4 to generate some feedback on the circuit and how Donner voiced it..read more of the entire thread for details.

Donner, just did a quick comp demo between the Beest and Deluxe Bee just for reference...yeah, that 10:30 Nature knob setting even with buckers still gives up quite a bit of Stevie Ray scream. Will be posting back to you today as well, and then can give additional feedback and demos.

Right, its not for general sale yet - and the production Beest will be more what we were expecting I think - more front loaded gain that gives more actual overall distortion and some growling mids and sustain , not so much treble rip.....

cool, yup thats the setting that sounds like my EGDM> HB stack and the sound that made me think this might be worth experimenting with 8)

EGDM > HBOD has to be one of the greatest stacks. :music Kinda like Neil Young's wall of sound.

I totally agree with this. That stack is one of the best, most usable sounds I've ever heard... But then, I may have already said that 1,098,953,94.8 times... Lol.
