I haven't had the pleasure of using them but they have a great name, and vintage pickups are great or at least many I have been fortunate enough to come across are.

FYI, thesjkexperience, I found that my tele really loves my DRD...

can somebody verify that the PH from the most recent run can handle 18v? there is an earlier post about how the circuit was changed a bit, so i want to make sure i don't fry it as i experiment with different voltages. thanks.

Hi,

Circuit hasn't changed but is the same since day one but first ones used a different chip. This is also changeable if desired. You can safely run your PH at 18V.

Have fun

thanks for the reply! would it be possible to find out what kind of chips the v1 had? might be fun to buy a v1 chip and try it out.

*covers ears* lalalalalala I cant hear you.

Hulakatt, I didn't own a Tele and a DRD at the same time so I will be excited to try this out! As much as my style has been built around the Strat I find myself playing my Telemaster (I made) and my LsL T-Bone most of the time. I have another Telemaster body on the way for myself, but when I sell a few guitars I want to do a Jazzblaster or Take a Jazzmaster and put a tele pickup in the bridge and use a cold rolled steel surround holding the tele pickup. I want a Lipstick pickup just below the neck pickup on its own switch and do a Zexcoil or maybe a WRHB Jazzmaster sized in the neck.

Dang! With all those Jazzmaster hybrids it'd be cool to do one with Charlie Christian style pickups

btw, Hey DonneR! Howzabout a Bearfoot PH?

I would consider a second one for a small battery powered board I want to make.

Check out this guys pickups! There are sond clips/video if you poke around a bit. http://tksmith.net/category/music/guitars-equip/ I'd love to do a Tele with those pickups though I do not know if they would work with my set up and style?

Here is my first:

My second was a Strat, but it turned out too heavy so I will set it up for sale with different parts.

#3 will look like this without the overly aged pickguard. I have a Novak WRHB for the neck and a Rumpelstiltskin 1950 black rope in the bridge (or possibly a Fat 3 Zexcoil):
Custom_Vintage_Humbucker_Telecaster_Heavy_Relic_Sonic_Blue_R39386combo copy.jpg

#4 will look like this with Klein Epic Broadcasters. I am softening the edges where the arm comes over the body as well as the back that hits your chest when sitting.
Black relic Tele copy.jpg

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but this and my kids are why I havent gotten to the cherry buster yet. #5 Will be a Telemaster with a bright orange, transparent Gretch finish with a Klein PAF in the neck and a Klein Nocaster in the bridge.
