Curious if the LGW could cover the tones of the PH?

I would doubt it. I have a VFE The Scream which is a tube screamer with adjustments at almost every possible tone center and I just couldn't adjust that to sound just like the PH. I got closest running The Scream at 18 Volts. To me the LGW (MP hardwired) was much harder sounding (high headroom?) than The Scream and the PH at 9 Volts can get a bit mushy on the wound strings. fwiw I use D'Addario 11 - 48 pure nickel on all my electrics and even with my vintage style pickups I can push the PH a lot at 9 Volts.

I also tried the PH at 12 and 18 Volts and I think I like it best at 18 Volts for the same reason I liked the VFE The Scream at 18 is the bottom is huge yet tight! It is easier to run it at 12 Volts and I feel it is mostly an improvement over 9 Volts, but unlike 9 or 18 Volts it can get a bit bright above the 12th fret on the high E string. I could really use a second power supply for my Effectrode Compressor, Strymon Timeline and have the ability to run a SBEQ and a PH at 18/12 or 9 Volts. I'd have to put it on top of the board though and set a pedal on it, but I don't think there is a power supply that will handle the above scenario. :boohoo

I am still waiting for directions on where to send the PH next, but feel free to procrastinate on your decision :music :pedallove :music

Donner, please send me your address that you will be at for signature. I am at a kids birthday party now  , so I won't get it out until Monday.

I was practicing slide this morning at lower volumes and really prefer the 18 Volt sound. It now sounds a bit mushy and less inspired at 9 Volts, but it is nice to have the option for three different sounds.

Is it possible to power a pedal at 9 or 12 Volts and have a switch on top that would change the Voltage internally to 18/14/9 Volts? A sweep-able pot going from 8 - 18 Volts would work and since the board is small and only one knob on top it could fit.

Actually, if the above is possible it would be a great addition to several pedals as so many sound so different at different Voltages. And, we all know how difficult it is to allot two power jacks to one pedal as most of us need more jacks not less!

I have run the PH @ 18v. In a nutshell, this is where it has the most volume and pronounced or articulated EQ. Midrange clarity if you will. Same with the SBEQ. and Donner; perfect description of the intentional warming ceiling lift at 18v on the SBEQ. Between the BPB, RRB and SBEQ + whatever OD's, D's, clean or driven amps you have an amazing amount of boosting, eq and gain options. Following with voltage experimentation you get another layer of depth to sculpt your overall sound with. Add a PGC to polish the feel(where desired) of the rig. so much fun. Thanks Bjorn.

Yup the Humper was made to turn a strat pup into a 335 pup and part of that is adding a slight overall thickening that it does well ------ but if you wanted to use the Humper with humbuckers its probably better without the ceiling ~ sort of a 'too much of a good thing' thing ...

Like when Im really in tweek mode I will use a SBEQ before and after my dirt section, running the one at the end normally but using the first one at 18v so only one layer of ceiling is present.....

and I think this would go for the Humper too.... one reason I think it is better as a separate pedal is that I would use it at the front of my dirt to simulate the bucker before dirt feel and use the SBEQ at the end of dirt for amp matching.....

and i would also use the Humper at 18v and the SBEQ at 9v

I agree. I don't have any humbuckers, but I wouldn't think it a great match. I go back and forth on 9 vs 12 Volts for the SBEQ which is great and really easy to do on the PP2+. However, I am looking at the Cioks DC10 for power as I wouldn't need wall warts for my Timeline, Effectrode Compressor and The Scream/PH.

I like the SBEQ at 12v. I dig the warmth and play more on the clean headroom side with degrees of grit/drive. 12v splits the difference for me. More of a humbucker player so PH not as useful for me. But for a strat or tele bridge. Wow.
