Are they optimized to be used with Twins and other Fenderish amps?

I've got a Reverend Hellhound I use on the US(Fender) setting and it seems a bit boomey with the LGW. I've never tried the pedal with a Fender amp.

In my experience, the pedals were primarily designed with guitar in mind (i.e. Strat, Tele, P-90 Humbucking or Standard Humbucking) more so than amp. The pedals are so tweakable that most amps can accommodate the pedals. There are some exceptions (i.e. a DRD into a Vox amp -- though some really like it).

What exactly are you referring to by "boomey"? Is it volume? Mids? Lack of Mids? Low-mid frequencies?

Thanks for responding. I'm referring to the mids. I've dialed the LGW completely clockwise and there still seems to be too much in the mids. Maybe it's the Reverend Alltone speaker.

I've just recently put a EVM 12L into a Musicman so I'm going to give that try but wanted to know if anyone else has tried the LGW in a Fender amp.

Perhaps give the lower half of the tone control some time. You may want to mess with various voltages also. Doing so might thin or compress your sound to your liking.

Play around with the knobs on your Reverend. I have a Reverend Goblin and the LGW sounds stunning with it. I do have the Goblin connected to a 12" speaker.

I always have to keep the bass pretty low on my Reverend or it's too boomy for my tastes. I have it set on US and play a Strat through it.

I used to own a 66 Bandmaster and the BJFE worked terrific with that...

Interesting. I always felt my LGW was more of a scooped Tubescreamer sound with more emphasis on thick warm low end and the ability to articulate the high end. I had an original TS808 and TS9, both of which were fantastic pedals, but way more "mid mush" than the LGW. The Little Green Wonder is everything I love about tubescreamers without the things the drive me crazy. I really think it is my favorite overdrive I have ever used. Like the Honey Bee, it just works with everything thrown at it.

I always felt it was a bit scooped as well. I have owned one three times and love it for a week and then get frustrated by the lack of mids. I just tried a VFE The Scream and it is a lot of fun with lots of adjustments to tweak things how you like. It doesn't have the higher fidelity of the typical Bjorn design, but it works great as an amp booster.

Wasn't it the EGDM that was designed for Vox amps? Or, was it just supposed to sound like a Vox?

I used the MP LGW with the DRRI a while back and loved the combination together. Really beautiful. It was my very first experience with BJF and got me into it. I was using it with a strat as well.
