Has anyone use one of these Barber units? I don't see any installation instructions on their site, so I don't know if it will work with a gooped pedal. I really want to run my SBEQ at the end of my chain, but I need a buffer in the last pedal and since I now use a compressor having the last pedal as a booster is a necessity.

instead of fitting one in an existing pedal and fiddling with it (resale value, etc), i would just make/buy a standalone buffer in an 1590A enclosure (the tiny ones, like the LP amp50) or even smaller.
the barber buffer seems to have many components, btw. the buffer of the Klon for example is much smaller.

Yeah Id lean towards just the buffer I think , tho the boost option is nice. Unless the buffer is lowering the signal level why would you need a boost ?
We have looked at this possibility as I never use batteries and I think it might be useful as an option for a fairly stable board line up ~ or if you always use a compressor at the front and a EQ at the end ,,, or like I had with an LRT (which is buffered) at the front and a BPB also buffered at the end.....

I also like the Axess BS-2 which is a great buffer/splitter combo. When I play U2, it is great for running that separate "shimmer" pedal chain directly into the house mix, creating a sort of string symphony patch below my main signal. It is a very cool effect. The BS-2 has been vital on my board at many point over the past few years. I would love to see something like that.

pretty cool. you can actually stuff a shitload in an A enclosure.

That B-Buff has more parts than a Timmy.

I am really afraid to screw up my SBEQ 023! I googled and saw the same B-Buff in a tiny enclosure and may look into that. You can see my current chain in my signature and I use a buffer after my Fuzz and again as the last pedal (Ruby Red which I am liking more all the time).

I do have a Cornish LD-1 and NB-3 coming around October which I had originally planned to replace both of my buffers with, but time (ears) will tell.

I started a thread about this topic at Barber’s forum and got the following answer from David Barber.

That looks like it will fit, and I can see access. The B-Buff runs on 9vdc, and no more and then it pumps the dc up for higher headroom. A little known fact of the B-Buff is that it has an access to supply the increased voltage to the host pedal. This means if your pedal does not have heavy current draw, you can apply 9vdc and run the whole shabang from the B-Buff power...so, can the BJFE handle 24vdc?

So I guess it would fit inside the SBEQ, but the problem might be running it at more than 9V. So in my case, where I run the SBEQ at 18, it might not be ideal. I wonder if there is a sonic difference between 18V. and 24V. on the SBEQ. Is this even recommended?
