i really like the PPF. kinda hard to compare it to another fuzz.....it's pretty gainy and full sounding, more "balls" than fuzz face.....

I had a PPF briefly this time last year. It was a very cool pedal, and it could get ballsy when the fuzz was cranked. I was really surprised as I was expecting the PPF to be purely a low to med gain pedal, but it had some decent gain on tap. I'm much more of a high gain guy myself and I ultimately ended up hanging on the the CAF. But I could easily see how this could be a dream fuzz for a lot of folks. I'll have to try a Model R one of these days!

i thought i remembered the model R being more high gain -- but i really think it is more of a medium gain pedal.

the one i have now for demos is the SAME ONE i used a couple years ago, so it must have been my Soldano adding some gain to the equation.

gonna do those DRD vs Model R demos here in a couple days!

Thought I'd add a link in this thread to the other thread with some Model R clips and a video:

I had just learned an STP song and a couple jimmy page solos when I made those demos, so forgive the blatant rip-offs in the clips :)
