Model G love... hat's off to Bjorn

I'm kind of getting the impression that it's okay to talk more about the model G? I actually took mine to a session this weekend and it just reaffirmed why all of us keep coming back to these great pedals. Drives on my board were the Model G, SS3, and P2. P2 does it's own violin fuzz thing, SS3 is a beefy OD pedal, and the Model G... just so sweet and musical. Used it with pedal gain high when on the clean channel and with pedal gain low in my drive channel, both were so juicy, smooth, harmonically rich, and full of umph (I think you guys know what I mean by this)! What a pleasure to play. I also used the Model G stacked into the others. I'm so busy these days that I find myself playing 99% of the time at home. Doing this, I forget sometimes how terrific these pedals sound at volume. The model G is simply a joy to play and I think Bjorn has done a magnificent job with this one. I hope to see a Bearfoot version so others can sample it's goodness.

Eye!

The Model G is a fantastic pedal and if only given one gain option this would probably be it. It covers a ton of ground and it has such a musical decay to the distortion. I have really been loving the HBOD Dlx and DRD lately but the G is another fantastic work by BJ. Hats off to him for putting out so many unique and music dirt boxes

Have you tried the Model HvT? How does the Model G fit in? Since there are zero samples other than clips of the real amp I'm still not sure what it is like.

Right now the MHt is my most played and favorite drive. The MG sounds very interesting, I would like to know how they compare :confusedq

They are very different animals. The Model G is more in the HBOD vein in that it models the breakup characteristics of another vintage amp (Gibson GA-40 IIRC). It is tighter, bigger and more aggressive than the HBOD and much more versatile. It still retains that dynamic feel though. It has a very pleasing decay to the distortion as well. :pedallove Probably my favorite of BJ's drives at the moment :)

It's like the Honeybee but tighter??? :love10

I definitely don't need any more dirt on my board, but if Bearfoot were to release the Model G, then certainly I couldn't be held responsible for my actions in buying one after reading that description... :D

Sorry to interrupt, but I was at work and thought I might have left the GAS on... :joker

I think "tighter" HBOD is a good description. I also think higher gain is a good one too. I did end up selling my HBOD without really looking back after picking up the Model G. If Bjorn and Donner are okay with it and everyone promises not to joke my playing (my gear is much better than I am ), I'll try and sneak in a little recording this weekend of the Model G at volume with a few different gain settings.

Oh... I also had the MHt, which was a COOL pedal, but very different from the Model G. More mids in the MHt and all around just a different sounding gain - wish I could do better than that description, but that's really it.

yes the Supro and Gibson amps could be cousins, but they are a bit different as are the HB and the G

While I don't have a clip of the Model G, I do have a clip of a GA-40 distorting... :)

Lets start with this as a reference point
