The G can be a sleeper sometimes. I sold my first one and learned quickly there is nothing quite like it. Though I don't often get to these days, my favorite use of the G is low to med gain when my amp is at higher volume. You know how great things start sounding after the amp has been running hard for an hour or two? Add in the Model G at that point and it becomes glorious!

Well nearly sold mine recently and I am so glad I didn't. I wish I could keep a 'library' of drives but I can't. There are so many great pedals created by BJ. What I have on my board is what I have pretty much. For me the G is the epitome of BJF drives. It has great sensitivity, dynamics and girth and it is unique.

What I forgot to mention in my last post was that I sold mine and then bought another 2 months later after a fruitless search for a replacement. I agree with the sentiment that it is one of the best examples of Bjorn's work. Incredibly dynamic and useful in many many different ways. In my sporadic band moments (I mostly just sit in with other guys from time to time - wish it was more, but too busy lately) I prefer to run a clean amp and hit a pedal or two for different levels of drive. The Model G really nailed the low to med gain stuff for me - very musical and smooth at band volume. If you can nab one I'd say jump, but it is kind of a big commitment.

I think I may really like this one from what I'm reading...

If anyone has one of these and a Honey Bee or Beest it would be really interesting to see/hear a side by side comparison.

Its not so much like the Beest - in fact in a way it has even less dirt than the Bee - but its different, especially with stouter pickups..... like Gibsons and Supros have similarities and differences --- Gibsons dont break up very easy and in a way the G is almost like a tube EQ warming and fattening before it finally gives up some dirt --- and I dig it the most now going into the PGC, so you get the sustain all the time and the dynamic dirt on demand.

And I almost think this is what the people that want a Model H with less dirt would enjoy. Makes sense the G before the H
