Model R clips

Postby Joeleo » Sun Mar 06, 2011 9:34 pm

As promised, recorded a couple clips with the Model R tonight. In both clips, the pedal was set as follows: vol @ 9 O'Clock, Drive @ Noon except for the end of the second clip when i crank the drive and play some Gary Moore (RIP), Resonance @ 2 O'Clock. I never know what to play when i make clips, so forgive my ADHD playing...

First clip is with a low output humbucker: Ibanez AS73 w/ a Bareknuckle Stormy Monday AlNiCo II Bridge P'up

Second clip is a partscaster strat with Lollar p'ups (Special bridge, Blackface neck; clip goes back and forth between the two)

I used a Sennheiser 421 into a Firepod interfacing into Logic 9 for the recordings, no doctoring.
Enjoy!

I have only listened to the Strat clip, but great job! Now I really want to get a Model R! I can tell this would work so much better than a DRD for me. Now, how to bribe Bjorn? :bjorn :pedallove

OR

How to bribe Donner?

First, great job with the sound clips!

I prefer it with the buckers for sure. Doesn't quite sound right to me with the strat. Cool pedal but I definitely prefer the DRD's sound with single coils which is good news for me!

Thanks for the clips!

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if i prefer it on the single coils or humbuckers yet. I will say that i always seem to have trouble getting a dirty sound that i like out of that strat, so in that way i LOVE the model R with it. The Ibanez (got it for under $400 and then spent about that much modding it!) tends to just sound sweet no matter what is between it and the amp, but i still think it works better with the Model R than with any of my other pedals (with the honeybee coming in a very close 2nd). My jazzmaster with a p90 in the bridge sounds really killer with it too. I'll do a clip with it too if i get a chance.

Just listened to this one on youtube and thought it was worth adding :)

the R is an interesting beast. i have one here now on loan from a friend, probably gonna do some more demos with it, as well as my first PPF to play with!

i really like the R, but it's very dependent on the amp and guitar used with it. i am gonna do something different for my demos with it this time.... :pedallove
