Finally got in on the Model R game. This thing rocks!!!! It has every bit of rich, creamy, dynamic distortion that I lust for. Now I can stop fiddling with my MH at gigs to get two different sounds and let the MR work one side for me while the MH does the other. The drawbacks I experienced with the DRD are eliminated in the MR. After our DRHD research discussions, I realized that I prefer using the Model R with my guitar volume backed off for a lower gain tone. For some reason (with my set-up), I experience better tonal balancing when running things this way. Of course, then I can crank my volume and experience some over-the-top stuff too.
Thanks for your explorations, gents. They have really helped me nail down some sweet tones with the Model R.
Cheers.

A lot of you guys know how much I like some of the Cornish stuff and even with how much I love the G2, I can't say enough about how much I love the Model R.
Compared to the G2, it's more throaty and thick. One thing that really blows me away about it is that It is very capable of going from George Lynch territory to almost mild OD simply by rolling back the volume on your guitar. I read somewhere that Bjorn was trying to recreate the stadium rock sound with the MR (maybe it was the Tomo youtube video...). I think he KILLED it with this pedal, even at home volume the MR sounds HUGE.
While I have thinned my heard of BJFE from 10 or so pedals down to 2 (not for lack of love, just couldn't afford to keep 10 BJFE and 3 Cornish, so I picked my favorites from both makers). I don't see the Model R going anywhere, it is the sound of vikings in a box.
BTW My other BJFE is the BBOD another stellar pedal.

BBOD @ 12 volts is magic. That tone will be on my board forever ... along with my MHvT. Those are two of my favorite rock tones. The Model R is up there as well.

I have not tried that, but will give it a go.

According to the Library it is possible to build 99 of these MRs and not even half that number have been built. How do you get one? Will Bjorn do a one off, or can we get a batch for the forum?

I had a lucky moment with a gracious 'gear talk' member. Keep your feelers out and I'll bet one will turn up.

I got one through custom-sounds around a year and a half ago -- talk to them and get on the waitlist.

Tim Tebow is apparently a virgin too. You are in good company.
