Everywhere I turn it seems someone wants a PGC! What's in the water?

I've noticed that too... Maybe everyone's just finally caving in. I did awhile back. Caving in is awesome.

Well the PGC certainly has its place in my board and hopefully i'll get a PGC DLX someday :) Its not so much about the compression but about what it does to the tone. It really brings it to life. I mean I don't necessarily have it on 100% of the time but pretty close to it.

I think I saw 5 WTB PGC over at TGP last night!

I have had the opportunity to play 3 of them, owned one and sold one. I guess I need a compressor lesson as I just don't see the use/need nor did I feel it helped my tone. :confused2

I agree with Steve. I have never really liked compressors because they seemed to make my tone seem flat and dull. The PGC adds sparkle and as Bobby D puts it a sweetness to my tone. I use the PGC for making my modulation effects pop and come to life and smooth out my drives, but hey if it doesn't work for you and your set up then trust your ears.

It took me a little time to realize that I wanted to keep mine. Its not an always on pedal for me either, but when it is it really sounds good. :pedallove

Bsic was the one who really helped me understand how to use the PGC to it's fullest potential. I'll try and dig up the thread that was going and copy his response here.To me it's a very similar spirited, albeit different, pedal to the klon (as a clean boost) that makes things sound better more sparkle more sustain. My recent dive into Cornish stuff has actually really gotten me more excited for my remaining bjfe. The Cornish buffer does great things for the bjfe drives and the bjfe smooth out the Cornish in a very pleasing way. I can't wait to hear how the PGC sounds with a Cornish buffer in the line!

To me the PGC has always been the best at simulating amp compression ~ the kind of natural compression that your amp does when its pushed.

I think this is also why some dont 'get' it as it can almost seem like its not doing anything as it sounds like the amp is doing it.

Same thing with the BPB buffer, its very amplike - it just sounds like your amp is running well rather than A Buffer.

I feel the sag and compression of the dirt pedals, but not so much from the PGC. I always thought compressors were for more sustain, but I guess I need more schoolin'. With so many looking it would be a long time before I can get one.

Even more new members looking for one. :confused2 To For others looking, especially newbies, was there a recent article or Musician that is recommending the PGC? I know even a thread on TGP can change the market, but this is crazy!

I should be getting a MP FGC CB :mailbox in the next day or two. It has been crazy cold here, so I suspect things like the mail are not moving as fast as usual. It will be interesting to try the sustain mode, but my batting average on MP pedals is very low, so it may go back unless I cant live without the Sustain feature.

I actually own 5 of them and have been trying to inflate the market with hype posts, I should be selling them all off soon... jk...

I heard that the PGC was one of "Oprah's favorite things" recently...
