Can the FGC do funk?

Just joined a funk/R&B band. Now I really need a compressor. I was planning on getting a FGC for its sustain/sweetening but
now I need to think about some funk squash. Can it do the funk thing?

Id say yes --- Tomo uses a PGC to great effect

I was looking for a old Boss CE-2 and have them both put into one box but I still haven't found the deal on one yet.

Cool yeah I still want to try one of those again ..... and putting a CE2 in on just one side of the stereo split would work for me
