I'm on the way out the door right now but figured it was a little too quiet around here today. So here's a couple pictures of the new pedal :laughing7

Its not quite as dark on some setups, and has a little more bite to it. Much more polished and refined sounding to my ears vs the V1. The V1 was already great imo and these mods just add icing on top.. without changing the typical MH character.

Very limited chance to try it out so far. However, first thoughts...

I used to have a Model H v1 which I thought was just OK with my rig and actually sounded a bit harsh. The v2 seems to be a little friendlier and even though I thought I'd just try it, and based on previous experience, not like it, and then move it along, I am having some serious issues figuring out which one of my 4 OD/Distortion's go. I'll try to sit down with it later this week and get a preliminary review but my initial thoughts are - this thing is a biiig improvement (with my rig) over v1. Well done BJ!!! :pedallove

So I spent some time testing it out over the weekend and I have to say (and this could be the honeymoon phase talking...) that this is my new #1 OD/Distortion. It is full and tight and can get some great higher gain feedback going even at lower amp levels. I think I am liking it more than my SYODv1 for tight lead tones. I think the SYOD is better for chords and rhythm work though. And where the model H really shines is with stacking. This thing into the HBOD really kills and it also works well with the Klon which smooths it out and takes some of the brightness off. Overall I think it's just more versatile in my setup as the SYOD seems to be a little tougher to dial in with the stacks - however I like it more for rhythm on its own. Ahh decisions decisions... wish I could get the stackability of the SYODv2 and the tightness and crunch of the SYODv1 in one box. Sorry to get off topic there...

Anyone else have any experience to share with the model H v2?

For the record my favorite setting is with tone and gain full on and volume a bit above unity (9 oclock-ish) and I'm playing a strat through a Carmen Ghia.

I gotta say I agree 100%. Its my favorite BJFE drive right now- two months now actually.

It has all the qualities i admire-- the amp saggy feel, touch responsiveness, just enough chime without getting too bright and harsh... I actually went an entire rehearsal with ONE pedal last week. Just one. No delay, no compressor, etc.. just my MHv2, and my volume knobby. It rocked!!!! No Im not saying I only need one pedal all the time, that would be just... silly :)

Very versatile and inspiring to play through. I dig it in a big way!!

^^ Good point too about the touch sensitivity and responsiveness to the volume knob. I forgot to mention that but it truly rivals the touch/feel of the HBOD and works great with the volume knob for a broad spectrum of OD/Distortion tones. I'm really surprised with this one. I think due to all that AND the versatility in stacking that this one's going to take a permanent spot on my board. :pedallove
