Great demo, Bill!
Playing and recording sounds great, and I get a sense of what you're saying.
Keep em coming!
(if the twins smell like feet when I get them, I'll be pissed though.. :laughing7 )

Nice job Bill--I like the perspective when you flipped to the camera mic...up to that point V1 sounded pretty biting, but when you switched, I preferred the tone over V2 through your rig at that setting.

V1 one sounds pretty close to what I hear in my head from the amalgamation of previous accounts....overall there is a more airy, immediate, transparent sound...even on the low gain settings--I can hear where V1 would act as an excellent booster for solos.

I also agree with you, from these pair at least, that the gain is very close, and the potential perceived higher gain of V1 is more the EQ profile--higher frequencies react quicker because of the shorter wavelength so the "gain information" is transferred quicker to our brains--on my V2 is has the highest gain sound when the treble is maxed.

Look forward to V1 now...thanks for taking the time to do this!

nice work gentlemen!

i have only played a v1 SYOD -- but i REALLY liked it.

i hope the SYOD eventually becomes one of the new MP PCB series pedals in the future, that would be a great addition!

Yep! Distorted upper frequencies are a lot more pleasing than distorted bass frequencies, more pleasing overtones that add up to a cooler rock sound.

Also some amps have treble control at the beginning of the preamp tone stack, so more treble dialed in actually dumps more signal into the following stages... so the more you crank treble the more gain on tap depending on the amp. So more treble is associated with more gain perhaps to our ears. Interesting...

And yes yes yes-- a SYOD1.5 halfway between the two is EXACTLY what I was thinking too as I played these!

Great minds think alike :)

What a trip! My throughts exactly. :salute Yeah I think that are experience was quite similar. The v1 is definetly more agressive and in your face, while the v2 is more mellow.

I would like to see a v3 that is voiced right in the middle of these two pedals. With a little bit more gain on tap than the v1 has.

i have tried both versions long ago, and had a similar tonal/sonic experience....i did choose the V1 over the V2 as it worked better with my Marshalls...i would like to see a 1.5 version, but i love my V1 !! :love4

Outstanding job on the video Bill, since no one else has posted receipt of two V1's, I'm guessing they will be at my door today :banghead - crap! Also, you video pretty much makes me like both of them a lot - double crap! I can definitely hear the lower mids vs upper mids between V2 and V1 and I can see how they would be great for all the reasons you guys have been posting.

GREAT JOB reviewers! Hopefully, I can come up with something meaningful to add.
