Yes, the SBMV has landed and I'm swamped at work and everywhere else! I'm hoping to have small 20 minute sessions here and there over the next few days.

This thing has got many 'a shades of vibrato/trem/phase- I wouldn't say it replaces a phase shifter, not for me anyway... I lyke me som sloooooow phaze
- It's vibrato and tremolo effects are super soupy good and blends very well with all three amps I've played through- shaking the speaker cones mightily! :P

The 'phase' thing the SBMV has got going, from my impression, is a phase shift more integrated with the vibrato and, meshed, makes for a thicker effected sound without 'swooshing' out. Very cool. Putting a phaser after the SBMV, like a Small Stone or Maxon Rotary (6 stage), setting the SBMV for a medium-fast vibe that chopshimmers and the phaser doing a slow sweep with a wee bit resonance makes for trippy sound sceneries :music :confused2 :music

Looking into record some samples that I can post up (a first for me). Waiting to borrow a friend's Zoom recorder, will try to find a good-ish sound and seek the muse for super sounding riffz :tongue

Much love for the SBMV! When these came up, I almost didn't jump in because I already had a MGMV. The MGMV is terrific, but the SBMV is definitely a worthwhile expansion on that pedal. Bsic's suggestion to try both cup sizes set to the same V and A is an excellent one. You can absolutely hear the difference. I'm using this for comparison purposes only, but the two cupsizes could be looked at the same way the TOP has a vibe/phaser thing going. The smaller cup size is lighter and more transparent. The bigger one is thick and lush.

One stack that really sounded cool was the SBMV>clean boost>delay/chorus - really trippy and pristine shimmery goodness.

Oh, did I mention the pedal looks really cool too!

Bisc and I were discussing security strategies for our growing BJFE boards - armored car and secret service :glasses

So I got mine last week on the same day as the WODOD so I've been pretty busy lately :music

I really enjoy it and will try to post a full review in the next week or so but I wanted to ask some quick opinions of the folks with the other SBMVs (and MGMVs) out there... Does this thing add brightness/treble to your tone? I'm loving the sound but I'm noticing that I pretty much have to roll the tone knob back on my strat or this thing takes my clean sound from sparkle to ice-pick highs. Can anyone else chime in on this?

Hmmm shouldnt be that much difference, tho it does add some improved fidelity to most rigs......

Try rolling the amplitude all the way down and turning it on and off ...

I think also inside there is a trimpot for the overall volume so you might want to back that off a bit ...

But its possible if your clean is fully glassed out you may not want the enhancement ....

Good point - could be the volume in general is boosted and I'm just hearing it as treble when the vibe swells since my clean strat is a bit treble heavy as is ... hm... I'll give that a go and report back... might be a while before I can play again though :greensad damn work...

I am really enjoying this pedal and it is absolutely a keeper. My only complaint is that it should have a warning for people at risk for seizures regarding the blue strobe light  :confused2 :laughing7
