Same here- find the cupsize preset to be just right. The SBMV came stock with the gain just a little above unity, which is good for enhancing the feel and sound of this great Vibe. Might look into boosting the level a little bit more before moving in on the other trimpots. For now, it's perfect. No broke, no fix

I love to go from a faster vibrato speed while playing a strumming riff, to a slower pulse while plucking out a melody. A univibe-type effect would take over the sound more when doing this, smearing a phasey veil over it, while the MV blends very nicely with the original sound to make a more complete effect- not 'transparent - more like "apparent"

I don't even own one, of course, but in the hopeful event that I might be so lucky in the future, does "small cupsize" refer to the faster or slower of the two stomp selections? I initially thought that small = slow and large = fast, but on an oscilloscope the wave form of a faster speed would be smaller, tighter (and, therefore, the "small cupsize") than the wave form of a slower speed (the "large cupsize"?).

All this matters because to properly use those two trimmers on the inside, it seems from what Bjorn wrote, you gotta know which cupsize equals which speed.

Think of "cupsize" as a garment that ladies wear, not an oscilloscope waveform! :-D

Large cupsize == "more wobble". Small cupsize == "less wobble". Maybe now the inside picture makes more sense

Larger cupsize is the one that is set via the top controls alone, smaller cupsize is controlled by the trimmers.

Smaller cupsize is less wobble, and better for higher speeds IMO.

In my personal use I found both cupsizes to give a different effect when dialed in the same, not sure if this is just my ears or even a flawed experiment.. If I set the trimmers to give the same speed and amplitude with both stomp settings, I still could hear more "wobble" on the larger cupsize setting, better for slower Trowerish grind. But perhaps that was because there is also a dependency on the top mounted Amplitude control for smaller cupsizes.. not sure.

Hi,

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen,

The trimmer on pcb sets the gain through effect and is used to set unity gain so that there is no level difference when toggling effect on and off.
It can also be used to set a slight boost or if ever needed a lower level when effect is on than when it is off.

The trimmer on the footswitch closest to the battery set the Velocity in small cupsize mode and then overrides the topmounted Velocity control.
The trimmer farthest from battery and also mounted on the footswitch set the Amplitude in small cupsize mode but is dependent on the topmounted Amplitude control
Unit comes with small cupsize set for high speed at low intensity and would thus be a multiple to almost any rythm and governed by the ontop Amplitude control so effect can be dialed in. Slower speeds may need to be set closely on the rythm and are threfore primairly controlled by the top controls so the cupsize switch makes a switching between the two most used settings on the Mini Vibe as alos described in the manual for BJF MGMV that can be downloaded on line.

So these have 3 trimmers? Mine is the Copper vibe but I can only see 2 trimmers? Is that right?

Large cup is the original MGMV setting

Small cup is only on the SBMV 2stompers ~ at fast speeds it is better for fast rotor leslie sims and more tremoloish at slower speeds .... I think for many people the SBMV would knock a vibe a trem and even a phaser off - justifying its pedalboard space better ... and the amplitude down enhancer is nice too
