The arrival of the SBMV coincided with this season's first snowfall! A good time to hole oneself up with a big cup of coffee, a pick and some woolen clad stompin' feet :D
( Disclaimer:  Snow flakes may appear closer than they actually are!)

It smells fresh, and the Donnerbox treatment is stunning! Very alivey-wavey, looks cool on pics, super beautiful in... personn (boxon?) :P

A drawing of an owl on the shipping box , signed M. Juhl. - gave a new song idea!

So- off I went and plugged my Strat into the SBMV >>> HB >>> into my current practice/home-amp, a Blackheart 15w 1x12 combo. Amp set for moderate breakup distortion with master vol. at 7-8 and pre vol at around 4-5 (loud and proud!)

First impressions: This pedal engaged makes everything sound better, even when the controls are at zero! The Blackheart Handsome Devil amp isn't very versatile tone-wise, It's fine - but with the SBMV it sounded phinar!

The effect of the SBMV goes from subtle to intense with the range of the Amplitude control, which is wide and makes for many variations. Can absolutely see me getting a rubber cap on that there Amplitude knob! Chewy and throbbing vibe and shimmering, vibrato, etc... I love it! Words fail,- I'll try to record some clips when time slows down. For now, I'm off to play some more, looking forward to trying the vibe with my Hiwatt + 4x12 cab! whooom-whooom-whoooom! :music :music

Cheers!

Hi,

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen,

The trimmer on pcb sets the gain through effect and is used to set unity gain so that there is no level difference when toggling effect on and off.
It can also be used to set a slight boost or if ever needed a lower level when effect is on than when it is off.

The trimmer on the footswitch closest to the battery set the Velocity in small cupsize mode and then overrides the topmounted Velocity control.
The trimmer farthest from battery and also mounted on the footswitch set the Amplitude in small cupsize mode but is dependent on the topmounted Amplitude control
Unit comes with small cupsize set for high speed at low intensity and would thus be a multiple to almost any rythm and governed by the ontop Amplitude control so effect can be dialed in. Slower speeds may need to be set closely on the rythm and are threfore primairly controlled by the top controls so the cupsize switch makes a switching between the two most used settings on the Mini Vibe as alos described in the manual for BJF MGMV that can be downloaded on line.

Have fun
BJ

Same here- find the cupsize preset to be just right. The SBMV came stock with the gain just a little above unity, which is good for enhancing the feel and sound of this great Vibe. Might look into boosting the level a little bit more before moving in on the other trimpots. For now, it's perfect. No broke, no fix

Tjena Björn, hur är läget? Sendar goda vibber från grannarna I vest!

I love to go from a faster vibrato speed while playing a strumming riff, to a slower pulse while plucking out a melody. A univibe-type effect would take over the sound more when doing this, smearing a phasey veil over it, while the MV blends very nicely with the original sound to make a more complete effect- not 'transparent - more like "apparent"

Thanks Donner, I like to take pictures there of all sorts of things, birdies- shapes in the trees, etc.I have a series of various 'sill pics from last winter also as well as others. Love my window sill! Love winter too. Changes. Rather have snow than rain! :glasses

:D Of course! Now, I think I'd have to ask kindly to use this owl as my new avatar on the forum. Could BJ maybe be so kind to ask for permission for me?
