thesjkexperience, thanks for your suggestions. I will try it at the end of my chain tomorrow and see how it goes.

I read somewhere that you prefer the Swart Atomic Boost over the Ruby Red for boosting BJF pedals right? Why is that? Ideally, I would like to end up having the Forest Green at, or near, one end of the chain and the Ruby Red at the opposite. I don’t know why, but i tried having just one buffer in the board and was still loosing loss highs.

I have also noticed that you often mention playing with attenuation. Do you have a hard time playing at home without bothering your neighbors? I had that problem when my main amp was a 5 watter and looked for so many alternatives. I tried using headphones with amp sims going into a mixers, and using a Weber Minimas. However, i was never satisfied as i found the 5 watts to be too loud still with the attenuator. I finally ended up getting a 2 watt amp and am SO SO happy. Now I rarely need to use my attenuator. Which attenuator do you use?

cheers,
Jon

I prefer the fatter, lo-fi sound of the Swart boost over any of the cleaner boosts I have tried since all the guitars I have are single coils. The whole using a compressor is still a new idea for me as I have always worked hard to use dynamics and use the whole guitar and get everything out of that. Look up a youtube by Rory Gallagher and that was always my goal. For 25 years it was a vintage style Stratocaster>cord> Mesa MKIIB combo + 1x12 extension. About 5 years ago I didnt even own any pedals lol.

Now we have kids and due to circumstances I stay home with them and I can only play at night when they sleep, so I attenuate the Swart AST PRO (20 Watts) with a Night Light and it is pretty nice. Far better than the two Webers I tried. I also have a Victoria and am in line for a Bludotone 4x10 Bassman (I am borrowing the only one in existence) So, I can run either amp with just the Swart Booster and the attenuator, or I can run my board and it all works out great.

While we do have neighbors that can be a real pain I have tinittius and dont want things any worse!

So right now I might run a Wah or Snow White AW > Swart Atomic Boost > board > amp where I can use the Swart Atomic to boost the pedals (this kills with the EGDM!) and I can either leave my FGC in sustain mode ON and use the volume on my guitar in combination with the SBEQ as a bridge pup booster or the RRB for the neck pup booster as the treble frequency is perfect for neck pickups. Lots and lots of colors to play with.

When volume is an issue I will use the FGC as a compressor and stack the ODs and use the RRB usually only for the neck pup in my T-Bone. However, I did play with the pickups today and got a better feel and balance out of them and now it sounds better than ever. (I am new to the Tele world).

I use the MH, EGDM, FGC and RRB at 12 Volts. I am also still exploring both the RRB and the FGC and how and where to use them. I have been using the MP SWAW a lot because I sit when I play at night and it is hard to use a wah sitting down. I was also inspired by Bobby Ds Stone Grey Distortion demo and am trying to use the SWAW for something other than Jerry G. tunes.
