BBOD Breakthrough

I picked up a BBOD several months ago. My plan was to use it as a low gain pedal for guitars with single coil pickups into Fender style amps. I tried that combo with several Strats and Teles. I did not have success and was a little down about that. I liked the BBOD with an ES-175, that had a P90, into a Fender style amp. Soon after I started having a weird problem with the footswitch. When I would engage the switch, sound would stop and when I took my foot off the switch proper audio levels would resume... I put the pedal aside for a while.
Today I had a little time. I used some electronics cleaner on the switch and exercised it. This alleviated the switch issue. And as George Costanza did in an episode of Seinfeld, I did the complete opposite. I put the BBOD in front of a Marshall 50 Watt Head, then in front of a 100 Watt Hiwatt and used a guitar with humbuckers. What a sound. Just a perfect high quality gain. Through the Marshall, which is by nature distorted I set the BBOD's distortion level at about seven. In front of the Hiwatt I dimed the distortion level. The result through both was incredible...
