Im just finishing up buying my house ....
and they had to redo the main electric supply in ...
and in doing so they loosened the former seal...
and it rained like a mofo a couple days ago ....
and water got in where it hadnt before .....
and landed on some guitars I had stacked in the corner.....
and two of my favorites got wet - my '57ish partscaster and my '77-'55 LP special doublecut ....

SO in getting these guys out and drying them off and plugging in and checking them out for needed help/repairs .....

I ended up playing the LP Special (modified with a special Lollar split mini humbucker) for the first time in my new house/ rig set up......

I ended up stacking it into the Model H (drive on about 9:30) Into the Honey Bee Deeluxe into the PlexiTweed and Deluxe Reverb in Staireo (stacked overunder) and wow !!!!

Just killin' on the 'clean to full dirt' with just pick dynamics front - every thing sounded great from classic rock to alt.country tones ...... but I finally nailed this one tone I have always loved but never hit ....

Its Skynyrds 'I aint the one' - that sort of clean scream solo tone - its on many of their early records , but that particular version still just kills me.......... and I finally absolutely nailed it to my own satisfaction 8)

couldnt stop smiling and if I didnt have to go to work Id still be jammin '

great to finally nail one of THOSE tones Ive never hit before 8)

Well, I hope your geetars are OK...what exactly were your settings for the H and Deluxe Bee? I'd like to try that meeself...funny that much of those KILLER Skynrd tones were played through the often scoffed at, and now vintage Peavy amps--"That Smell", of course "Sweet Home", "I know a little"

yeah the guitars seem to be ok, so far ..... fingers crossed....

the Model H was low drive , tone most of the way up and level at unity > HB with drive most of the way up , nature fullclock wise and unity level too ..... the Purple Humper I just put back on the board was a perfect goose for this to give it some extra growl....

but yeah I believe thats Collins Firebird and that pickup is part of that sound (Neil Youngs too) love those minibuckers ....

yeah those early Peavey tube amps were Fender copies with different speakers - kind of half way between Jensens and Celestions which is what I like these days too ....
