Marty, what actual mic did you use to plug into the iPod?

Hey Bill, just used a compact Belkin that plugs straight into the power jack. For what it does, it records surprisingly well...I just have to get creative with that kind of volume in a small room, but the sampling rate is near CD quality.

I'll get some more stuff happening next week...actually was just playing with the SYOD only into channel one and it's an awesome match...more gain than either a stock HB or SHOD, though the SHOD really holds its own, and is actually more amp friendly....man BJ ROCKS!!

I really appreciate this time and effort like others Marty.
There is a truth we can hear in a clip
whatever the medium: e.g. youtube, sounclick
or the recording method be it a camera mic, ipod etc.

Having done so many clips,
Bobby D knows from experience the time and effort it takes.
e.g. recording/ filming/ editing/ uploading etc.

And if he thinks your playing is nice work,
coming from "a guy who knows his way around a Stratocaster"(as Jeff beck says of Eric Clapton),
that's a nice compliment too!!!!
I don't own a SYOD........(yet.......)
these clips really colour in or fill the gaps
that linit even the most articulate written impression.

Cheers and I hope others jump on board too! :D

Thank you for the kind words Simon, and from everyone...hey, I know that reference "Jeff Beck, Live at Ronnie Scotts"--GREAT show...have seen Beck quite a few times since 1982 including a double bill with Stevie Ray(RIP)...god bless them both--Jeff has been and continues to be an amazing influence and inspiration, and out of the big three, Page(whom I love dearly), Beck and Clapton(most always good, but never better than with John Mayall and Cream), Jeff is the only one who has continually gotten better, and better, etc...it is EVENTFUL to see him live!

Though Simon, we can ALWAYS talk about your homegrown boy...TOMMY EMMANUEL...All hail!
(Seeing him again this summer in NYC--Woo-hoo!)

If Bobby D like Jeff knows his way around a Strat-
Yeah.....Tommy Emmanuel certainly knows his way around a Maton!

But what just pours off the stage
is sheer joy and the buzz he gets from playing live.
He always looks like he's having a ball and it comes over so well
and is infectious. Always seems
to be smiling at the joy of living the dream:
i.e. I love what I do...and I get paid for doing it......can you believe this??!!!

He still talks about getting a written reply from Chet Atkins as a 9/ 10 year old boy,
and the fact he ended up getting the chance to play with his idol with the greateset respect
for the man and the player.
Roll on Part 2 Marty!
