I can't give my MP CS-40 away

Amazingly enough, I'm getting little to no interest in the MP CS-40. I've dropped my price $1100 and virtually no nibbles whatsoever. It's easy to blame the economy, but people are still throwing around lots of cash on the forums. I think it's due in large part to no one having a clue of what one is like, because there are so few of them (because the retail price is insane). Unless you're really into BJF stuff, why would you want one bad enough to spend the cash on it? Why aren't more pros playing BJ's stuff? If Mayer played a CS-40, the demand would go through the roof.

it's such an awesome amp. there are just so few of them out there.....maybe it needs a bobby d demo?

if i had the $$$, i would LOVE to have it. you have it priced REALLY fairly. still, it's a lot of money, and times are tough right now to sell ANYTHING.

i hope someone realizes what a great deal this is and jumps on it!

They are incredibly hard to find. Luckily, boutiquetone in montreal has them, so i'm bringing my pedals over there to listen to it up close! Hopefully i'll be able to do it soon. I feel that the TwoRocks are just extremely well tailored to single coils and that's the only reason Mayer uses them. I really would think more rock bands would use the BJF/MP stuff since its so good. However, you do pay a premium because of the export. Still I have a hard time finding anything else that comes close to my BJF lineup!

I can't resist commenting that I've played my favorite Strat thru at least three different TwoRock amps, including an obscenely overpriced Kimock signature model, and was relatively unimpressed. No offense intended to folks who like them. TwoRock has certainly done a great job marketing their product - something many boutique builders fail to achieve.

It's a shame that the MP amps aren't even a blip on guitarists' radar here in the US, but understandable given the circumstances. I would love an opportunity to play one. Alas, not in a position to buy one at this time.

One consideration is that with the MP you dont really need pedals ....

I use a clean amp with a bunch of dirt pedals so really all I need is a good clean amp ...... but if I was only allowed one amp and no pedals Id be all over the MP.

My opinion is that MP amps are a great product, but the business plan / approach to marketing is subpar.

If the goal is to make a handful of amps each year for some hobbyists with excessive cashflow, great - mission accomplished....but changes are needed if MP ever wants to be on par with successful boutique amp makers.

It's true that the CS-40 can produce all sorts of tonal variations. That said, it requires signficant tweaking to get the variations -- not nearly as easy as flipping a pedal on and off.
