stacking the LGW and the SHOD!

Postby Bobby D » Thu Mar 18, 2010 7:40 pm

i had several requests from users on youtube to do a special demo of stacking the LGW and the SHOD.

when i was in the studio a few months ago, i got the chance to stack and test out MANY pedal combinations, to see what sound would work best for a track.

the engineer and i struck upon the LGW into the SHOD as being one of the best sounding "stacks".

i find myself using the SHOD more and more, and even though i love the honeybee just a bit better, the SHOD has a STING to it that the honeybee does not

here's my new stacking demo of the SHOD and the LGW......enjoy!

I agree!!

I spent a lot of time today playing with both the SHOD and HB, stacking various things into them, and I was trying to narrow down between the two of these to keep only one.

The HB has a sag and amp like feel and a sweet coloration to the tone... a warmth.

The SHOD has a "sting", a bit of a growl, and a more modern edgey vibe if you dial it in... and I hadnt even put the gain past 2 o'clock.

So... keeping both!!

Nice combo. I think Bobby and I have had this discussion before: I prefer SHOD>LGW. Working in a classic rock cover band last year I was finding every conceivable OD tone I could want with that. Obviously it also sounds great as Bobby uses them here in the reverse order.

Bsic, you've undergone a standard BJF initiation rite - acquire both HB and SHOD intending to choose between them and sell one, end up keeping both. Welcome to the club.

yes! many find out that the only solution is to have BOTH the Honeybee and the Sweet Honey.

I am gonna be doing some gigs this weekend, and am gonna reverse the LGW>>>SHOD to the SHOD>>>LGW combo and see how that works out for me!

stacking pedals is the most fun you can have with your clothes on!
