Some love for the PPF

Well we are all different and we all have different setups but I have been on a fuzz quest for a looong time.

My second PPF arrived today and it is awesome. Just the right amount of bite, brightness and great dynamics. Also great pushed by a honeybee and crrrrazy pushed with a SYOD. I had one a couple of years ago and sold it after a while. My current favorite guitar is a 74 Tele Deluxe with widerange hbs into an AC15 and an AC30. I didn't have this guitar with my previous PPF so that might explain it. Will try it with other guitars tomorrow.

I have also had a SWF (twice) and a CAF. All great in different ways but not quite there for me and my setup. The CAF was too intense and the SWF too dark and wooly. This PPF however is the business for me. I am a very happy camper!

P.S. I have a D*A*M Drag'n'fly for sale if anyone is interested.

Thanks

Sean

I've been playing through PPFs this morning and I must pile on PPF appreciation.

I'm a self-professed fuzz addict (I currently have over 60 fuzz pedals) and PPF is def one of my favorites. I feel fortunate to have tracked down two of this wonderful creation.

I was playing through LP Stinger R8 RI and 65 Princeton Reverb. Tonal heaven! Here is a pic of my PPFs (SN 176 and 16)

i love the ppf as well, i'd be happy to have a second so i could run the nature knob on one at 9 o'clock, and the other at 3.
it's just so harmonically rich, and loves to stack...great fuzz.

I have to agree - PPF is great, and it does some great low gain sounds as well!
Sure, it doesn't do enormous walls of fuzz or really nasty fuzz, but it is a good fuzz sound all on its own.

To think I nearly sold it a while back...

One thing about it is the input impedance of 470k ohms - there may be some effects on tone with LPs or other guitars
with 500k pots? So the PPF may sound different when it's not used as first pedal on a LP? Just a theory.
