Pretty much second week, at the Anaheim Convention Center, right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland. I have a buddy who lives just up the street in Fullerton (where Leo Fender's old shop still stands), and there's a great British pub there, "The Ship," that I can't wait to eat/drink at.

Cynthia and I are staying at the Marriott, right next to the convention center. I don't know if we'll be able to see everything in the short time we'll be there, but it would be nice to meet some people. I really only go to these things for the opportunity to socialize with folks I never get to see otherwise.

Yes; I agree. Don't know what's going on with you, and I don't want to ask you publicly, but feel free to call me any time. (916) 784-9429 Well keep in mind we're on Pacific Time, and I don't generally roll out of bed 'till 10:00 AM.

But I would love to do a pedalfest! What do you think it would take to bring Bjorn back to America? I felt so bad that we didn't get a wedding invite to him (I figured it would be a huge imposition to expect him to fly here and that it would never happen anyway), 'cause he said he had wanted to go! And he's not into going to NAMM shows, so we should figure something out to do. I remember I've been sort of stewing on the idea of having a pedalfest in Las Vegas for some time. I really don't like Vegas a whole lot, but it might charm some people into coming out.

Call me strange, Vegas is just about the last place in the country would entice me to visit.

But I dig the Pedalfest notion. The NY Amp Shows (in NJ, actually - perhaps Loni can't tell the difference) were held in a fairly non-descript location (convention hotel) in central NJ, obviously chosen for easy access to a major airport and also by car. Seemed a good choice.

Do such events need to be on the coast to draw a crowd? I don't know. I think this year's Amp Show is in Austin (makes sense).

But here's a thought, following Donner: how about some lower profile, lower cost location more in the middle of the country? KC? Madison, WI? Iowa City, IA? Being an east coast intellectual elitist type, I tend to regard the midwest as Sarah Palin country; but there are actually some very hip places (like Madison). Just thinking how one might split the difference between the coasts, travel-wise; plus, some folks actually live out there.
