I'm just getting into my EGDM. I've played it with Vox and Marshall style amps and it excells at both. 2 things though: How does the trim pot work? CCW=darker? Also, mine doesn't have a serial number under the battery or on the backplate so I don't know it's birthdate....... Maybe Bjorn can chime in...

Inspired by some others' comments on this thread I took the EGDM into the studio tonight and tried it out with the old Super Reverb. Wasn't exactly 'instant AC30', but very compatible and definitely took the Super into uncharted territory. Remarkable that it bonds so well with such different amps.

I dont even own humbuckers to see how it reacts to buckers! I turned my trim pot back almost (1 hour on a clock face) CCW to tame the treble a bit and run the pedal at 12 volts. I agree with the amount of volume on tap. I run mine between 8:30 - 9 o'clock, Voice about the same and Dist 10:30 - 11:30. I tend to use the DRD for the most distorted tones, or stacking the DRD into the EGDM OR EGDM > HBOD. I do have a SBEQ on the way that I can see using to post boost the EGDM for a sweeter tone on the bridge pickup.

I´ve been having my EGDM for some years now. Actually one of the first without the trigger. When i use it with my Gretsch Tennessean (hilotron singelcoils) into my Prosonic combo´s it opens up and sounds amazing! Vol at 9, Voice at 10 and Dist between 8-10 o'clock. It makes the guitar sound like never before, TONE! Too much gain gets dark and muddy.
Sounds great with humbuckers too but i almost only use it for this guitar or as a boost pedal into a LGW.

Don't swap your hilotrons for filtertrons before trying the EGDM...

Honey Bee it's on its way.. gotta try EGDM into HBOD..

Since I changed the internal trim pot-
I'm on a new love affair and honeymoon with this pedal.
Gigged on Friday night-
used it MORE than the Honey Bee as a go to rhythm pedal.
Paired with the Model H as a rhythm lead combo is a new universe.
Thanks to Scott and Donner for trim pot advice.
