I have to say, of the 7 BJF's I own. One manages to stand out, for its complexity, and clarity of tone, at any setting. The whole thing is a "sweet spot". Of course I'm talking about the amazing "R"
WOW!!!

I've been playing my R quite a bit in the last couple weeks. It's really good, I mean REALLY GOOD. Right now, it's my fave BJF. In other words my favorite pedal.(Subject to change, of course).
What a great pedal

Hello everyone. Model R must be one of the truly great distortion pedals. It's the one with more dynamics than the best tube amps! You can really use your touch and the volume pot of your guitar. From Tom Petty to AC/DC with your pinky.
Do yourself a favor, try it if you can.

What does the R is Model R stand for? Is the pedal modeled after any certain sound?

Hi,
"R" stands for "resonance," and it has to do with the pickups in your guitar. What & how exactly, I don't know. I just know that that's what "R" stands for.
Cheers,
Doc

yessss the R control...being one of the best controls on a dirt pedal I have encountered, will literally control the rip of the distortion decay...when the Drive in cranked all the way clockwise and the R is also you can achieve an AMAZING harmonic tone ripping wave of sound...it a very unique control and makes this distortion very differant from anything else...i think it is fabulous and love it to death, just holding one note or a chord is so pleasing! talk about stoner rock
