And i already have a Skreddy Lunar Module which is amazingly versatile and is not overly brutal or noisy at all, so i know what i'm getting myself into

yes, i have had the LM as well, it is a very cool fuzz, as are all the skreddys, much love for marc :D

but the CAF is unruly.....i don't think marc makes one this wild.

however......i would love to see what would happen if he DID

candy apple fuzz goes OCTAVIA style....with some honeybee to tame it, and some deep blue delay for atmosphere

man oh man.......have you ever heard a BETTER octavia sound?

i haven't.....

HOW DOES THE Candy Apple DO IT?

i wish we could get Bjorn to explain how the magic nature knob works.

seriously.......while the CAF is sort of an unruly beast, it has SO MUCH fuzz magic inside.....and the nature knob allows you to dial in nearly anything....from garage rock fuzz, to octavia, to smoother MKII style fuzz, and many things in between.

i loved the CAF.....and with the CAF and Snow White fuzz, i have ALL the fuzz i need! 8)

Dude, what can I say?

No, I have never ever heard a better ocatvia sound! :o

I'm sitting on a bus right now, when I get home I will try to find that setting right away! You seem to have found it at a slightly different setting than I use for octavia. Maybe that little change will be the difference? (Well, can't say that I have ever been disappointed before... )

it depends upon YOUR particular CAF.....but the nature knob right around noon is VERY critical. you have to dial it in a LITTLE at a time.....maybe 11:59....maybe 12:01. you will KNOW IT when you HIT IT.

Bjorn suggested to play a D Major chord at 2nd fret, and dial the nature knob while you strum that chord until you hear that classic ringmodulated sound where the chord just gets all smeared harmonically. THAT is the setting

the honeybee (or most other low gain type OD pedals) helps a LOt to smooth out the rough edges of the CAF, a tube screamer type pedal works well here.....

Of course... Did forget for a second that they're hand built. How stupid of me.

On my CAF it is at app 11:59, and sure I've had great octavia sounds, but the one in your video... Awesome.

I'll just catch my breath after a long journey and a long week, then I'll have a go at it!

I will use my HB, they are absolutely great. Probably my most used low gain OD. I sometimes stack it with LGW with great results! :D

Oh yes, it is indeed a great fuzz. It is hard to get a useless sound out of it.

The CAF and the AWF is more than enough if you need varieties of fuzz sounds!

bjorn says the nature knob:

"It changes the working point of internal transistors and therefore does many things.....allthough that's just one part of CAF ;)"

it's a VERY interesting pedal.....maybe one day he will teach us about HOW he makes the CAF do ALL those sounds!
