having GREAT fun with the DRD again

check out the LOW GAIN part of the demo, the DRD can kinda get close to the Baby Blue if you set it to low gain 8)

Excellent demo, Mr. D. Aren't those low gain sounds a revelation?

I'm currently auditioning a DRD, provided by a mysterious benefactor, and it is filling that space between OD and Fuzz very nicely. My initial interest was Bjorn's comment that it stacks so well with the PPF, which I'm seriously digging. And indeed it does. The PPF, by the way, also is amazing on low gain settings - pushed a bit with a compressor it does that 'Tweed Deluxe on steroids' thing. Sweet.

yes.......the DRD is quite good. while most of us talk about it as a "high gain distortion", i can really almost get some Baby Blue sort of OD sounds from it, if the gain is kept about 8-9 pm on the dial.

and of MANY pedals i have tried with the acoustic guitar, the DRD happened to be the one that sounded BEST, with the Sweet Honey coming in second.

i have a distinct feeling that the honeybee i have on order will be PERFECT with acoustic guitar. just enough hair and gain to sound amazing.

i will try and shoot some demos tomorrow at my gig illustrating what i am doing with the acoustic and all the dirt pedals

LOL......only problem is, it's FANTASY FEST week in Key West all next week. my gig may be too crowded to do any video.....we'll see! i will try to get some taken this week somehow. my soundman just bought the new ZOOM Q3 recorder, and it does GREAT audio and decent video.....so maybe i can get him out to the show!

Maybe, even if too crowded for a proper PEDAL DEMO video, we can make an exception...of course to honor all the fine patrons gathering 'round for Fantasy Fest!
